[Mike Finger] Just for the sake of due diligence, asked Brian Wright if there’s any realistic deal out there that would make the Spurs open to dealing Devin Vassell or Keldon Johnso… “No,” he said, before I could finish. Stressed how much the Spurs want to find out what this group can do.

That’s really awesome to hear and in my opinion the right move
I think the spur should absolutely look to add another player from this year’s draft. But sacrificing one of their young talent, who are nowhere near their ceiling or have shown what they can do, isn’t the right move.
Hopefully We manage to still obtain another first rounder using future draft collateral to grab a point guard, but if not I’m happy to hear this This group’s going to get another season together plus Victor.
Finally this Keldon shit can stop 😭😭😭
All about it. There is zero reason to trade Keldon right now.
I suppose he can’t say “yea sure, those guys are expendable”.
He’s not to discuss it if he’s open to moving them. One, it could cause an unhappy player if you can’t move them. Two, it makes them seem a little more valuable if you are not actively shopping them.
Love that tbh, Keldon is both a nice fit and still has lot of untapped potential. Oh and he’s a locker room+ and our most tenured Spur (i think).
But if we trade Keldon maybe we could get high enough in the draft to get a player as good as Keldon!
The fact that he interrupted with the “no” probably means he wants to at least see how victor fits with the current core before making more headline type moves. If he had plans to deal them, he would probably be as coy as possible and give some vague non-answer. That’s how I choose to interpret this
Makes sense to try to move up with future draft capital as opposed to trading away the young core. Maybe they get traded later on or become part of the core moving forward who knows.
