Would We Take Ayton for the Below Package?

Would we? Could we even with the salary cap crunch we have?

  1. I will drive bertans and maxi to thr airport

  2. P1mongoose

I guess I’m OK with that. I would just like to keep the pick for once and go with Lively, but oh well.

Absolutely. Maxi and Bertans are bad contracts. Yes, I know Ayton is a bad contract too, but I’d rather bet on the 24 year old coming off 5 straight double double season averages than two bench players and a 10th pick gamble

Don’t trade 10th for Ayton. He’s considered as a negative contract at this point.

they have no leverage… why would we trade the 10th pick

  6. Tuffwith2Fs

Hellllll naw. That’s too much for Ayton. Suns have no leverage and Ayton is more overrated than Tara Reid in the early 2000s.

Take the pick outta there, then we talk.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m really high on Ayton and think he could do well with a change of scenery. But I really feel like if we’re serious about contending we should aim to draft Lively straight up @ 10 or trade down for a passable center and more assets. Contributors on rookie deals is crucial now. Just look at how Braun did.

We can’t afford to give up the only plus asset we have in this draft for one player on a high contract, who has had issues performing in big games. Not in this CBA. Just my opinion though.

No way. Suns have no leverage, I’m not giving up a top 10 pick for a 30 million dollar center that isn’t dominant

  9. NoWayNotThisAgain

Ayton is still a no, but I would do 10th pick and Bertans for Poeltl.

  10. lilsaucy32

Not for the 10th pick. If they want the 27’ FRP for that package then sure.

If lively has the ceiling their trynna say he has then Dallas should keep him. Rookie contracts add up to 20 mil over 4 years Dallas would get a tyson chandler esque big for the low. Better than paying 30 to ayton or 20 to capella.

  12. cypherdust

I’d rather have Lively. Much cheaper contract and helps us stay flexible for the future

And with the new CBA we will have no choice

  13. The stories of Ayton pouting when he didn’t feel he got the ball often enough and that it would effect his effort on defense makes me pretty wary of the guy. It would not, as they say, be good for the culture.

Would be great unless they sign Kyrie and then it won’t matter, any team Kyrie is on at this point is doomed.

DeAndre Ayton did not get along with Suns ex head coach Monte Williams. Ayton is still with the organization & Williams he gone.

I think the Suns have a higher value for Ayton than the rest of the league. Maybe new head coach Frank Vogel can light a fire under Ayton & get more out of him.
Again, Ayton is still trade bait but the Suns are under no pressure to trade him since Suns owner is not concerned about the luxury tax implications.

I like the idea of trading for Ayton but financially we are fucked unless Tim is included, the package should be Tim/mcgee/bertans and our future first, not the 10th

I really like the idea of Ayton though, I just have a feeling about him with luka I feel like he’d give his all for Dallas because him and luka are boys and on the exact same timeline

I love how this sub is desperate to get rid of Kleber in every trade scenario as if mobile bigs who shoot the three and can defend on the perimeter are so plentiful on the market. All for an overrated center who the Mavs exposed in the playoffs last year by using Kleber.

  18. whitefang0824

I really think Suns would give Ayton a season with Frank Vogel and see how things will work out. I don’t think they’ll trade him.

  19. jdmay101

I mean… I see a lot of people saying “absolutely not, no way”… but to get out of Bertans’ contract AND fill a positional need with a guy who is considerably better than average at said position, has all the talent in the world, is still young and probably has a chip on his shoulder…

I’m saying yeah, do it, or something like it.

  20. pimpfmode

It would be nice if the rest of the league decided to just freeze the Suns and nobody trades for Ayton. Why help them out by taking the 30 million contract off their books? Let them suffer and get in huge cap hell.

And no I wouldn’t give up the number 10 pick for him. Davis and Timmy. Any deal they make they need a center and a point guard so we’re not really a fit unless there’s a three-way involved.

  21. ginger_snap214

love ayton but not giving up the 10th to pay him 30 mill

  22. AlCzervick

Ayton for Bertans and Bullock and a 2nd or two.
