We’re gonna have to spice up the trade for the Mavs besides Micic + picks. Figure they’d want Kenny or Poku as well.

The Mavericks are not going to give up a Top 10 pick just to get a guy who has never played a minute in the NBA and whose commitment to staying in America is questionable. Maybe the Mavs would be interested in something that includes Micic, but it’ll require way more than just him.

I want him to play in OKC.

Where is the dude that compared him to Gabby Deck?

Now that I’m thinking of it, assuming he’ll fit in the OKC personality test, we might just want to keep him.
He’s a veteran on a rookie contract. He’ll bring leadership and increase our floor at the very least. We’re looking for Tre Mann replacement which is basically a scorer-facilitator and we’ll get him cheap and fits our timeline. If we can lock him on 20M/3 contract, then I’ll go for it.
Prove his actual worth in the NBA and let’s see where it’ll go.
The question of whether we’ll be a contender shouldn’t be much of a problem. Presti can make a pitch that Chet’s gonna bring talent. JDub’s late emergence and just overall individual improvement of everyone will make us at least a playoff team. I can see us replacing Grizzlies in playoff position. Then expect another tight race for spots in the West again.

A fair comparison should be Bjelica who had been euroleague mvp prior to coming over. Apart from the position obviously.
Was Bjelica good enough for rotation minutes in a contender ? Yes.
Was Bjelica worth a top 10 pick in a trade ever ? No.
Not to mention Micic needs to accept an offer from his new team and could decline it. He can also wait until late September/October to sign any contract with any team and we’ll lose our rights to him if we can’t agree on a deal. Stash rights aren’t worth much.
