Chris Paul knew about the trade, wouldn’t return for the Suns for the vet minimum and wanted the full $30 million. He also said Isiah Thomas is an unofficial “advisor” for Mat Ishbia.
EDIT: [Also reported that Washington wanted Ayton but Suns we’re not offering him.](https://twitter.com/Gambo987/status/1670907120026554368)

Very classy hit job by the Suns after Chris Paul helped turn your dumpster fire franchise around
people hate on Gambo but he’s been right on literally everything. but hey if i’m cp3 and i think someone out there will pay me the full 30, then fuck it. i wouldn’t wanna be on vet minimum either. nothing wrong with that.
So Ishbia is basically the GM/President of Basketball Operations?
I feel like the Matt Ishbia guy in Phoenix doesn’t really care about winning.
His strategy seems to be to get his team to score as many points, fill as many seats in the arena, and make as much bank (or raise the franchise value) in the first few years of his ownership. A literal form over function. $162 million (the luxury tax ceiling) tied up amongst 4 guys gotta be the most bonehead move I’ve seen in years of following the league.
Their bench depth was an issue this season, and looks like it’ll be a bigger issue for years and years to come.
I mean let’s be real.. There’s no team that would pay current CP3 full 30mil. On vet min or as a 2nd unit PG, sure teams would line up.
CP3 needs to accept his current state like Westbrick did and either adapt or follow Dwight’s path in Taiwan
Sounds like if they can’t re-route him and he gets waived that he’s going to be looking for someone’s MLE
Don’t fucking say “he’s president of union so he has to take max of what he can get” fuck off with that and him if he thinks that
What sane human being turns down tens of millions of dollars? That’s generational wealth he would be passing up. People pushing him to sign for the vet minimum… would YOU take less at your job to have a better chance to make a big achievement at it? Fuck no! You’d demand they pay you what you’re owed
Little bit of back and forth I see. Feels a little wrong, since he instantly raised the floor since he got there and got them their first playoff birth in a while.
Zeke doing what he can to prevent CP from getting closer or topping his legacy as one of the small guards in the league.
The Suns get a pass for flopping as the constant West betting favorites post KD trade because of his injury.
If we were pretending that he was that valuable to decide a franchise’s playoff fate just a month ago, then yeah he should ask for the entire bag.
Unless he’s running the point, best keep Isiah away from your NBA franchise lol
People who believe that Paul is going to go somewhere to play for the vet minimum are fucking idiots.
Paul is the same dude who helped bring about the current salary structure in the NBA. He did it specifically so that he could make as much money as he possibly could at the time.
All I know is that come may when the suns are eliminated, I will be there no matter what
How rude! He wanted his actual contract to happen!
I’d take the money too lol. Theres always a chance that the Wizards buy him out and he can ring chase in LA. Phoenix isn’t going anywhere making these moves imo, Beal ain’t that dude.
I’m so confused cus I thought it was first reported CP3 got waived
Sounds like CP. If Karma deals him no rings, then I’m going to have to start listening more.
cp0
Nuggets fans love the trade! We are all laughing.
He’s braindead delusional if he thinks he’s worth 30 million.
CP acting like he played his whole career there and won titles. Suns don’t owe him Jack shit.
no one gives a shit about this career loser and what he wants
there isn’t a single person on the planet who wants to watch him play another moment of basketball
