  1. i like that they are more carefull about leaks those things only destroy a team! A well trusted staff is very helpfull.

Don’t like Collins tho… (at the price he will probably cost)

When stuff like this leaks I usually take it to mean the discussions have already ended with no deal.

But Brogdon and change for Collins seems good. Although Hawks fans seem to really hate Collins so maybe not

He is too expensive unless we plan to move him further for an even better asset next year

Would 100% be in on us getting Collins, I think we could revitalize his career and I think Atlanta has done everything they can to ruin him.

Unfortunately, if it’s being reported, it’s probably not going to happen. I don’t think we’ve heard reporting of any move Brad has made before it happened, not once that I remember.

I like Collins as a player, think he has talent albeit inconsistent.

But man, that contract is rough..

That’s gross I’d rather keep Brogdon than trade him for Collins

I would only want Collins if we were moving Brogdon out in a three-team deal and Collins was being valued as a substantially more negative asset than Brogdon (i.e. we were getting pick compensation for taking the contract).

Maybe he will be better with a change of scenery, but that contract at circa $25m per year for the next three years is an absolute killer in the new cap environment. And if he doesn’t improve, he is less of a contributor to winning than, say, Grant Williams.

In 6 games against us this playoffs, Collins put up over 5 rebounds once and never recorded 2 assists in a game. On a team where his scoring isn’t going to be the first thing we need from him, this just doesn’t make sense to me.

If we get the John collins from the last 2 games of the hawks series then yeah. If he gets his finger fixed and can hit 3s and punish mismatches in the post but he hasn’t been that guy consistently

Idk about this. I’d like it, but Collins has gotten worse each season.

Personally I’ve never understood the Collins hype from this standpoint, on offense, he has the skill set of a 5, but he has it in the body of a 4. Combine that with the fact that he is a 4 on defense, and it makes it very hard to find a frontcourt partner for him.

You’d have to play him with Jokic or Sabonis or someone of that ilk who is a playmaking 5 or stretch 5 that allows him to be in the dunker spot. I guess in theory, that works with Al, but we already have Rob and Rob is better.

    Collins is garbage.

Okongwu is otw. Atlanta is dumb as shit if they trade for Ayton though he’s awful.

  13. BananaStandBaller

I’d honestly prefer Ayton to Collins

you guys are so predictable. a trade rumor comes up and its 100 posts saying that player sucks and our guys are too valuable (not peyton pritchard!) and then why luke kornet and mike muscala are the answer.

I’m a big fan of Collins over the years and think his bad performance was a combination of being unhappy and having a hurt hand.

I think revitalized he can be our third best player and play a 2019 Pascal Siakam like role.

  16. Vast_Ad8251

John collins is fucking dookey, dear god don’t trade for that waste of cap $

  17. Doitlikethis23

Is John Collins the next Myles Turner of Celtics rumors??

  18. iStandWithLucky00

I don’t see the need for either team to trade for Ayton tbh.

Atlanta needs wings and we need an OG anonoby / siakam style guy for when we go small and want to run a wing as our biggest guy.

I used to be all in on Collins, but for a team that is looking for an actual presence in the front court, Collins is not it. No physicality or toughness in his game at all. He can stretch the floor, but he’s also coming off his worst shooting year of his career shooting sub 30% from 3. Doesn’t bring that much more of an advantage than playing a small lineup would…
