For those who are pro “trade for LaVine” what would you give up for him?

This tweet which sourced KC Johnson a Bulls Insider said that the Bulls are looking for a talented young player, multiple picks, and salary filler

Would you include RJ in this trade?

Would you include IQ and Obi in this instead of RJ?

Would Grimes be off the table?

Personally if it were me I’d go the IQ, Obi route since I feel their production is easier to replace in free agency.

Donte Divencenzo basically gives you an equivalent of what IQ does and he’d most likely come at a cheaper cost. IQ wants a big extension, Donte could probably be had for the MLE

Obi is mainly used as a spot up shooter and not much of a roller, we can replace him with Yuta Wantanabe who is a better shooter and probably more comfortable in that role

  1. Not saying I’m 100% into it, but he would take RJs spot. Add in some filler and a pick or two (with protections, even if it’s one that we own from somebody else)

At this point as you may know Evan or obi would be filler, and DRose might be useful for a coming back party in Chicago and let him retire gracefully.

  2. I’m like a 70/30 no right now but I can be swayed. Maybe I’m valuing our young guys (RJ,IQ GRIMES) too much but LaVine wouldn’t be the all in move to guy the second unit and potentially two starters for along with 2 FRPs.

Very confused as to why anyone would trade Quickley instead of RJ if given the choice.

RJ had a good playoff showing this year, but his production the last few seasons has been…not good…

Quickley on the other hand will probably get paid less than RJ and is coming off of an excellent season as the runner up to 6 man of the year. Clearly didn’t play well in the playoffs and then he got injured.

I’ll take the larger sample size of data telling me that Quickley is better. I still have hope that RJ might figure things out though.

I don’t think people comprehend that RJ **has** to be in the trade. They aren’t picking up the team option on DRose, they’d be in the luxury tax. IQ doesn’t make enough money yet to be aggregated in a deal like this without giving up significant depth. Obi doesn’t have the value and he’s likely the avenue for the Knicks to get a pick in this draft either to trade in this deal or keep. Grimes was untouchable for fucking Donovan Mitchell, safe to assume he isn’t going anywhere.

Through sheer process of elimination, the deal is RJ + Fournier since it completes everything the Knicks want to do— upgrade the offense, consolidate for better talent, and shave some money off the books to open up more of the MLE.

This is ridiculous what in the fuck lol. He’s going to be had for the MLE for a reason man.

    Id include Barrett.

IQ prolly is leaving to start somewhere else, Id rather use him on another deal to get someone else but If he’s the one leaving for Lavine Im ok with it.

I know the Obi news and all that, but If I’m including Obi + another young guy then the picks have to be less.

    I’m not including Grimes.
