[Smith] This seems to have flown under the radar today. If the Las Vegas group is dropping $10B of private money to build an NBA-ready arena, they have to feel like they are getting an expansion team.

I'm guessing Seattle & Las Vegas are announced within 3 years.https://t.co/rr90MgoFlp

They are getting the A’s and an NBA team?
As soon as pro sports opened up to sports gambling, Vegas getting pro teams in all sports became inevitable.
Just a unique city that not only has a decent population to support a team but will always fill out stadium gaps with tourists from opposing fan bases.
Should have been Seattle but sports betting I guess
Vegas and Seattle to the West, New Orleans and Minnesota to the East
I heard San Diego was building a arena
Vegas continues its run.
Vegas getting the 4 major American sports in like a 10 year span has to be some kind of record or something right?
It’s not $10B for an NBA arena, it’s part of a whole Hotel, Arena, and Entertainment district, so just another Las Vegas block
Don’t they have the arena for the knights???
Duh Lebron is going to buy the Vegas team, pick up Bronny and Bryce and then come out of retirement to win a chip with them.
It is foretold.
I am fine with Seattle, they deserve it.
But fuck Vegas.
LOUISVILLE DESERVES THIS FUCKIN TEAM!
Gotta get one for Seattle as well
Add Vegas and Seattle, change to 16 teams per Conference, move Minnesota East and have 4 divisions of 4.
Something like this (don’t hate me I’m just trying to see if it would work lol)
Western A: Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas, Utah
Western B: Sacramento, LA Lakers, LA Clippers, Golden State
Western C: Phoenix, Denver, OKC, Dallas
Western D: San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans, Grizzlies
Eastern A: Boston, Toronto, New York, Brooklyn
Eastern B: Minnesota, Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit
Eastern C: Cleveland, Indiana, Philadelphia, Washington
Eastern D: Charlotte, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami
Vegas getting a team is about as much of a secret as Seattle getting one. It’s just a question of when
If anyone hasn’t been to the strip yet and want to. Unless you make like 200k a year, it ain’t all that trust me or anyone else who’s been haha
Man it’s gonna be awkward rooting for every Vegas team except this one.
Can someone tell me a tentative year the announcement of the 2 new teams will come? I know it involves the new TV deal or what not
Pay attention John Fischer..
Fuck you. Sell.
the location of this development is way off the strip and basically located near the i-15 if you’re coming from l.a.
“His plans for a 20,000-seat arena as part of a $3 billion hotel, gaming and entertainment district near the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road have grown substantially.” [link](https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/vegas-basketball-arena-developer-says-10b-project-is-growing-wont-require-public-money)
that area is trash and the nba would not approve a nba team that is not located on the strip or downtown las vegas.
They’re building the arena out at blue diamond in hopes that they’ll get the nba team. There’s more than one group hoping to get the eventual team. This build isn’t a guarantee.
Also 4-5 miles from the action of the strip.

The NBA needs expansion more than any other league. At a minimum Seattle and Vegas need teams. Probably a few Canadian teams too.
Vegas is getting a high speed rail to LA so throw them in the division with the Clippers and Lakers and you’ll get a lot of away fans going back and forth on the 90 minute trip.
If Vegas gets the NBA before Seattle, then we’ll know David Stern wrote that shit in his will to lock Seattle out!
I’m sorry….TEN BILLION?????
Got owners begging the tax base for a billion in so many communities yet some folks are about to drop TEN BILLION on some shit?!
Vegas, so hot right now
I went to a Knights game and raiders game on vacation down in Vegas… to put it gently, if Vegas gets an NBA arena I’ll never be able to attend another live sports game in NE again lmao.
Gosh dang it I want a team in KC so bad. I will burn Vegas to the ground
Feels like the league has the talent to support a couple extra teams tbh.
10 billion for an arena? That doesn’t sound right.
