As a reminder Zion averaged 27/7/4 as a 20 year old playing 61 games. May need to load manage him 20 games a year but he is an MVP candidate that is 22 and locked in for 5 more years. If he’s available hess definitely worth the risk

Eh I would honestly prefer a Scoot/Simons package. I just don’t trust Zion to stay healthy and focused over the long term.

Some of y’all really need to look at how many games Zion has played in 3 seasons.

No I didn’t miss a season, Zion missed one of his.

An entire season. Anyway he’s played 114 games over 3 seasons in case you don’t want to look it up.

There’s a reason why the Blazers would prefer Ingram to Zion, and Brandon isn’t exactly an iron man or anything. The man is a perennial MVP candidate and an definitive floor raiser for the 30 or so games he plays. If the Raptors had a deeper roster then maybe I could get more on board with this but as of right now, this is a trade too risky for my liking. He’s young, but he has major health issues and whether or not you attribute that to his general motor/conditioning or as informal protest to being on the Pelicans i.e. I will not be my best self on this roster, get me out of here (I find this to be a ludicrous theory, personally), it is very hard to ignore how big of an issue his injury history is. If he goes down, this team will be in significant trouble.

And no, you’re not giving up the 13th pick in such a deal.

Got curb-stomped by this subreddit for saying we should make a run at him not even two days ago

His upside is legitimately the best player in the world, I’d cry tears of joy if it ever happened

  5. If Masai strikes out on a high draft pick, this is the move to make.

There’s no point being mid forever with siakam. Zion is basically a giant lottery ticket. Siakam got 1 year left. Do it.

  6. Beneficial-Luck-5078

    Zion/Scottie/Jak is crazy frontcourt

This subreddit: We need shooters badly the fuck we doing,

This subreddit: Zion is the man we trade everything for.

I don’t even care that he’s made of glass, or the fact that he apparently likes to sleep with *****s, Zion ball will not work in the modern NBA unless he is surrounded by shooters for an outlet pass. We don’t have any shooters to begin with.

  8. I think it really depends if Zion can be happy here. I get a sense he wants to only play for one of the mega markets

It’s a worthy risk to take if you’re running it back. This team has peaked with Siakam in the #1 spot. At best we’re a 4th or 5th seed that flames out in the second round. But Zion is a needle mover. We might still be a 4th or 5th seed, but that would only be because of load management. Come playoff time if he’s healthy we’d have a shot to surprise a lot of people just like Miami did.

Toronto has a lot of honey. Zion would be a disaster. Do it.

  11. You guys really think Zion can come out better in Toronto than he did in New orleans?

Toronto has much more beautiful women compared to Louisiana and the food is one of the best in North America.

Bro I don’t care if we have to Load manage him, if we can swap Siakam for Zion, our window opens right back up and i will never say anything bad about Masai ever again, even if he trades for Boaty McBoatface right after.

Injury issues aside Zion puts up MVP level numbers and if he can stay healthy could become the next Shaq.

Getting Scoot would be amazing, but it’s Zion, given the choice you risk it for Zion imo just like we did with Kawhi.

The big question is who’s more valuable, Siakam to the Pels or Zion to the Raps. Imo I think Siakam + 13 + OG maybe? for Zion + Their 2023 pick which I believe is after ours.

I know Zion has the injury concerns but he’s a lot younger and is already playing like an MVP when healthy, hence why the Pels will definitely want a good haul, but we can use the injury concerns to at least lower to ask and move down. OG I think is the sweetener to make sure they don’t call back Portland for the third and instead stay on the line with Masai since we dont have the 2024, 2025, or 2026 first to use and i dont think Pels will accept 2027.

edit: posted on the Pels sub about what their ask is. We’ll find out if they tell me, ignore me, or tell me to sod off lol

It depends if we can get buy in from Zion, if yes I’d jump at this trade. I just don’t think NO does it this year

  14. mxgicjohnson

Pascal is great but if Zion pans out more healthy than he’s been then that’s a generational forward combo

I think what Zion really needs is a change because everything with NOLA has been so so messy. Sometimes all people need is a fresh start

  15. splittonguestudios

To clarify, this isn’t a rumor. Bill hasn’t heard anything about this trade.

He just threw this out as a trade idea.

  16. Fit-Introduction8575

Moriah Mills ain’t following him to Canada😤

  17. Fit-Introduction8575

Bruh the potential is crazy but we would need some heavy insurance payment in picks.

  18. Typical-Ad-1570

Would be like the demar for Kawhi trade

  19. RockinghamRaptor

I’m willing to bet my life savings that this trade never happens… and just because my life savings totals under $1,000 does not make this trade any more likely.

  20. bmoney83

There is no way Pelicans would do that, it would take Sikam + OG

  21. The fact that there are comments actually wishing this would happen. The dude has barely played at all in his whole career so far. I dont care how good he is when he does play, he’s worthless if can barely be on the court. Not to mention the off court issues.

  22. billysonoma

Yeah – this is not happening. And I think it’s a terrible idea. There is nothing stable about brining in a kid with this much baggage.

  23. forustree

A poon addicted young shrek sized leaping hormone in multicultural stripper heaven … no dice!
Siakam will increase efficiency under new HC is my hope.
