Rather than a bunch of replies, I’ll address this here: Jaylen Brown is not a FA. There will be no S&T with him this summer. He could do an extend-and-trade, but there’s no reason to. If he turns down the super max, he can get traded and re-sign as a FA in 2024 for more money.

I’m confused why exactly is this news? He literally can’t do an S&T if I understand his current situation right. You might as well say Jaylen Brown will not be announcing his candidacy for president. The rules don’t allow it to happen you don’t need to announce it.
Oh no not an overly confident Keith smith tweet. Now we know jb is definitely gone 😭😭😭
The only trade where Brown is traded results in two stars coming back, with atleast one being cost controlled.
That’s very likely not happening.
If both sides want it, why is there so much smoke? If there are no rules restrictions, I hope this deal is signed and announced soon
There is a reason. if he wants out of Boston so badly, to just extend (which is just like a 5% raise iirc) and trade then that is the reason.
Is it idiotic? Yes. Take the super max and play a year then demand a trade if you want out. Holding numerous millions of dollars grudge by not taking the super max and he actually wants out? Biggest loss of a bag ever
Let me say it like this… Jaylen Brown would have to REALLY hate Boston if this possibility came to fruition, he would be turning down a fuckton of money, and NBA players, barring Dennis Schroder, don’t do that. You get the bag, and then figure out your situation later (i.e. force a trade), that’s what has become commonplace now.
A much more likely scenario in my eyes is that Jaylen has said that he’ll sign the supermax, but really, he is only committed here for 1 more year (the earliest he can be traded), and if they don’t win a championship (or even if they do), he would like to move on after next year.
