Siakam was heavily discussed with the Blazers in talks for the No.3 pick…There are 2 competing narratives on the talks. Portland has projected that they were unsure about paying Siakam a new max contract. League sources have suggested that Siakam was unwilling to provide assurance he would re-sign

I do think waiting until one year was left in their contracts lowers the value for Siakam and OG quite a bit, although not a lot of teams have money for them next year

If anything happens it will be tomorrow, I just hope woj or shams confirms if they are having talks or not and if there is a possibility, if not, we can all just worry about the 13th pick

These seem like the same issue lol

Portland: “you’re not worth a max”

Pascal: “k then I’ll get one elsewhere”

If he wasn’t worth a max they wouldn’t be considering trading the 3rd pick for him 🤷‍♂️

  4. Massive_Secretary658

Pascal give portland the assurance you son of a bitch. We need that 3rd pick

  5. pskill43

Lmao Portland thinks Pascal isn’t worth the max but is about to pay max to Grant

Is it me, or do people significantly underrate how good Pascal would be as a #2 option?

He was just up and coming when he was the #2 scoring option in 2019, and he dropped 32 in Game 1 of the Finals.

Dame is a 30 PPG scorer. The current All NBA level Pascal would be a pretty strong #2.

So if this is true then Pascal is aware he is being shopped, how do they reconcile that if he doesn’t get moved? that dynamic has always been odd to me

Yeah he’s not a top 10 player, but if Pascal Siakam isn’t a max player, what is he worth then? What are people expecting to pay him?

This is just some BS rumour.

Correct me if I’m wrong here… he can only be eligible for a supermax if he stays with Toronto, right? (Can only be offered by a team that drafts the player or trades for them while on rookie contract, which no longer applies to Siakam). So Portland is balking at paying him the standard max here, not just a supermax?

  10. UjiriWatcher

Masai waited too long to trade his players once again

  11. TheRoninWasHere

Geeez dude take one for the team. You still getting overpaid

  12. vaalbarag

It’s kinda amusing, after all the years we were a franchise with a reputation that nobody wanted to be here, we’re at the point that players are passing up player options to stay here or being non-commital in trade discussions so that they can stay here.

(I get both guys could be moved as early as tomorrow, and that at it’s heart both these decisions are about money, but there was a time that money wasn’t even enough to make us a desireable team).

New rumor is that Lillard has requested a trade.

  14. TheOnlySafeCult

And now the blazers sub is suggesting that just Simons for Siakam should be the deal.

“Dame’s game will age well” “god Siakam’s turning 30 and he’ll regress badly” deluded as hell lmaoo.

They’re going have to pick a lane or they’ll turn out like us

If portland doesn’t want to pay a max contract to a perpetual all-star and all-nba forward, then they don’t want to contend.

and if they are waffling on that point, why would Pascal give any assurances?
