  1. I think he has the right mindset. You see Zion, Ja Morant and then you see Victor Wembanyama. Seems so classy and grown up already. He has that Cade Cunningham mentality, young man, young adult, but still acts like a real adult.

Won’t be surprised to see him make all star and all-nba as a rookie. If the spurs play this offseason smart they will be good right away

  3. wesholarship

2 hopes for him: stay healthy and don’t do something stupid (cough cough ja, Zion)

He looks like he has all the tools otherwise

  4. rattatatouille

That’s why San Antonio got a slot at the California Classic

  5. Wenbanyama certainly seems to be doing everything he can to prepare for the NBA and prevent injury. Unlike a lot of centers, he really seems motivated to play, and to prepare to play.

Even being slim is apparently part of the plan since they didn’t want to put too much stress on his feet before he reached the NBA. And bulking up now is part of the plan as well.

My eyes darted between “Victor Wembanyama” and “season ended” causing like one second of panic before I actually read the title

Let’s not get injured before the World Cup Vic, we need you in there.

I too lifted weights this morning 💪🏼

Spurs should protect him from himself and not allow him to play in the Summer League.

Still can’t believe the Spurs got the #1 pick again when there’s a generational talent in the draft. Wtf.

  11. How is he gonna manage the world cup and summer league? Not to mention his season just ended pretty late…

  12. SsumdaySmebMarin

he’ll bulk up quick, San Antonio? no problem

  13. VICTORJACKIE

All he gotta do is 225 for a clean and he’s technically stronger than 90% of the league. Since we all know how much it helped steph

  14. awesomeness6000

just as long as he doesnt run into LeBron in the drew league, I think he gonna be fine.

  15. Volbeat91

The Spurs need to slam food into him like they’re prepping a duck for foie gras

  16. rxxxxxxxrxxxxxx

Is he also going to play for France in the FIBA World Cup this August? If he is, then I hope he doesn’t push himself too much.

  17. The_Donny_Lebowski

Please don’t play in the summer league. I can already see it happening now…. “Wembenyama suffers freak injury during blowout loss to the….”

  18. whiteyspidey

Seems like a lot to go from European league to summer league to nba season for a rookie

This dude’s focus and worth ethic really scares me. I’m convinced he has the head on his shoulders to become an all time great, if his body holds up.

Just listened to Old Man and the Three ep with Victor… this guy is perfect for San Antonio. He’s an incredibly grounded and humble athlete who is super sure of himself. Very refreshing to hear this mindset from a young super star. Tim Duncan-esque.

Is anyone concerned that this phenom got swept in the finals of his euro league?

  22. socialistbcrumb

Wow, really getting ahead of himself to assume he’s being drafted

  23. StanVanGhandi

Breaking news! Anticipated #1 pick in NBA draft is “lifting weights” and plans to plan basketball in near future!!!!

  24. VoidMageZero

So what are the odds for the Wemby gets injured and becomes a bust timeline for maximum chaos? 🤔
