It's so weird that ppl don't understand why CP3 was pissed that he learned from his SON that he was traded. Players of CP3's caliber are often told that a trade is going down by their front office or agent. It's lousy business when you find out you're traded alongside everybody else — it does happen but no player is ever happy when it does.
CP3 setting fire to what he can on his way out goes a LONG way to explain why he's never been able to break through despite his talent. Basically, a selfish a-s-s-h-o-l-e who kills teams almost as much as help them. Likely the best thing for Phoenix because Booker can now move forward with his growth instead of follow in CP3s footsteps of leadership by being an ass.

I think CP3 was legitimately hurt by the choice to get off his contract and shipping him out because he found a place and players that really accepted him for who he is. This was the only place where he won a Western conference championship. He is probably frustrated because he was on his book tour; instead of talking about that interviewers will want to talk about this trade.
CP3 and LeBron (as leader of the player's association) created the concept of teams having to pay their top players $250M and $300M. AND the concept that players could be 35-40 year years old getting 30-45 million per year.

There is zero chance CP3 didn't know this was coming. That's nonsense. The Suns were very upfront with his representatives that they had no intention of honoring that $30 mil (which he knew coming in – it's why the contract was structured the way it was for him) and that they would explore "all options" including the waive and stretch, waive and re-sign at vet min or include him in a trade. This was communicated with CP3 upfront and without ambiguity. It has been reported that he was not going to re-sign at the Vet Min. Suddenly, the Wizards come along and tell the team their All Star, who has a no-trade clause, only wants to come to the Suns and they'll take Paul and Shammet and some 2nd round picks. It happened very quickly and it was something the Suns couldn't pass it up.
CP3 making it seem that it 'came out of left field' is simply being petty and trying to make him look like some kind of victim. Everyone knew this was coming the moment the season ended.
