The Mavs hold the 10th overall pick in tonight’s NBA Draft, and they’ve been linked to a variety of both prospects and trades. Once the draft is over, how will we feel about the Mavs’ roster and their ability to compete in 2022-23?

  1. The same as I did since they drafted Luka, respectfull. I feel optimistic but also mindful of the team's historical 0.500 record. It is what it is.

  2. At one point I’d say that there is no way the Mavs are so stupid to simply draft at 10, resign kyrie, and pick up a middling wing defender and call it a day… but no, they are definitely that stupid.

  3. We’re getting a sloppy 10 and miss out a franchise player who gets drafted 6 picks later

  4. None of this matters if whatever Nico and the front office do to change the roster up, Kidd then a few weeks in decides the roster is terrible for what he wants to do and does nothing to adjust. That would be a disaster.

  5. Why do we have to sign Irving? Not If we are competing with ourselves! I would rather drop all the expiring contracts and sign someone else! We aren't in a great situation, but our biggest hope is that Josh Green and Jalen Hardy become good players this year, and the 10th pick is a good player right off the bat. I still believe Christian Wood is a good player, but Kidd hated him for some reason.

  6. The Ayton thing is appealing to me. But I wonder if you could keep Green & Hardy and give up the 10 spot. I feel like that could be the most beneficial for both sides.

The Suns still have an insane cap issue. But at least they've got a team of like 7 or 8 instead of 4.

The Mavs get a veteran big man who is actually pretty good compared to what Dallas has been working with. And they hold onto Green & Hardy. More of a win-now approach while they're trying to take advantage of the Kyrie years.

  7. I want Mavs to have a top 10 pick next year too because that first for Knicks becomes a second round instead. I’m so petty about their tampering they deserve it.
