Can’t wait for Winds deep dive here.

If all 3 are ready that is what we need. 3 max players is a ton of $$$ locked in.

  2. 99Will999

Checks out, definitely need the nba ready guys and not another bol bol project

  3. shaner307

None of us know how any of these guys will turn out, but the one thing we do know is…

    #THE NUGGETS ARE WORLD CHAMPS

This is what I’m saying. While high ceiling talent is nice, are you really getting that in the last 1st and 2nd rounds? Would rather have good role players that immediately can contribute in the current window over projects.

  5. Shenanigans80h

Booth hasn’t lead me to doubt him yet. I think we clearly targeted guys who may not have the biggest upside but have a higher likelihood of contributing soon, which for a team with a window like ours, makes by far the most sense. Stoked for the new Nuggets

All have a 3pt shoot, they all rebound well, high energy players from highlights. All 3 will be coming off the far end of the bench. If they contribute that energy off the bench, that will be huge.

Jeff Green is no longer playing big minutes I think. It looks like he finally emptied his tank and would just be a mentor like DAJ. I’m lppkijg forward for these rookies.

Trade all three for a Bruce Brown sign and trade

I definitely wanted us to draft some boom or bust guys. However, drafting these multi year college starters is going to be the way going forward and keep us on top.

  10. Strawther will probably end up being the only person of the 3 that gets real NBA minutes, looking forward to see what he can do.

At this point if booth picked 3 dudes from Siberia that have only played basketball twice I’d trust Calvin to know something.

    I like the backcourt picks

I dont see how Tyson has a spot on roster.

Wouldve rather draft n stashed or a long term project

Strawther has a chance to play some minutes providing scoring off the bench, but Pickett is probably in the Ish role this year. I don’t know what to make of Tyson…probably spend a year or two in G league.

The US Navy heard the implosion days ago

Watch his highlights, man is a catch and shoot legend who is gonna bury three when Jokic or Murray finds him open. No idea on defense but love the pick

Biggest thing will be defense and how well they develop and improve on that end:

Strawther – pretty bad defensively esp off ball in college lot to clean up with his rotations and overall focus

Pickett – Works hard and is focused on defense but is a bit undersized and it gets exposed

Tyson – Gets outmuscled by bigger wings, doesn’t have the foot speed to stay in front of quicker SFs

We drafted for a particular window. We need guys that can come off the bench and score and that is what we got. We will definitely look at some UDFA and find a ring chasing vet to replace Brown. When you are picking as late as we did you aren’t drafting for the long-term, you just want complimentary players for more deep runs. And if any of these guys can score in the six or so minutes of game action they will see I am fine with it.

Obviously nothing is certain but thusfar in his tenure Booth has been absolutely COOKING

  19. Ponder3277

Dumb question. All the draft websites said pacers for strawther and pickett. Why? Have they not updated that trade that happened a few days ago.

  20. frantichamster1234

Keyontae Johnson. Why didn’t they get him? Why?

I like Booth’s strategy: big, skilled, experienced players that can possibly contribute sooner rather than later.

They seem to have a lot of experience, eg, the PSU guy played 5 years of college. Most teams would see that as a negative, but we need role players ASAP. Our projects are bearing fruit, so just draft older guys who can maybe get interesting during our starting 5 window.

We still need a backup PG and a backup for Joker.

To me this draft felt like a young gm that just came off success, so he thinks he’s smarter than everyone else and this is the result.

Having said that I’ll said i think there’s good value here.

Strawther I’ve watched for a 2 years. Shot is very good same with his overall touch and I’m more positive on his defense than the consensus. Just feel like he disappears at time for Gonzaga, kinda like him over a lot of the other wing options at 29. Ben Sheppard is a better version of him but he was picked before and to me colby Jones is the only other guy I’d have above him. Strawther actually has an elite skill so can understand him over Jones.

The other two are 5th year seniors and to be honest i just have a natural biased against 5th year guys. So all of this might be unfair negative. However there’s a lot to like about Pickett. Think he has a real game and talent. His vision, touch and some of his moves are very real. He has the talent to be a backup PG.

Having said that his bully ball style isn’t real and came in his 5th year for obvious reasons. Defense projects to be bad. I think he is better than Gillespie, but also don’t see him apart of a playoff rotation so is he that much better than Colin to justify the draft capital? I’d lean towards no.

And i havnt looked at Tyson Hunter too much but hard to imagine a guy that finally had a season more than 10 ppg in his 5th year is a real nba player. Love to be surprised though.

Draft haul? This isn’t the NFL, there will probably be about 3-5 guys in the entire draft that are great players.

  24. Glum-Piece1504

Strawther is a good shooter but terrible on ball defender. I don’t think we can use that cuz Marcus Howard was similar and couldn’t make it even tho his height was a problem too.

Hunter Tyson looks to me as a good player overall. He can be a backup for MPJ.

Pickett only drive and kick and is bad on D.

  25. Jokara34

I just don’t get why Calvin is trading up that high for guys he could comfortably get 10 positions lower.

  26. butt_naked_wonder

Penn State alum and fan here. I am so so so happy Pickett landed with a good organization. I trust you guys will love him. He’s incredibly fun to watch, had a very unique “old school” type of game. What is your PG rotation looking like? Is he most likely to end up on a 2 way contract, or does he have a shot to make the roster?
