Tremendous movement shooter and fit. This upcoming year is crucial, no excuses!
He won't play much with Willie Green. In 2 years he will be trade for ham sandwich and a banana.
I'm mad hyped we used our 14th Pick to draft Jordan, just like how hyped we were when we picked Trey. This Jordan kid gonna prove in a few years that he a straight-up steal from the draft. Ain't no issues with him fitting into the current system, he gonna be on the roster real quick.
Unpopular Opinion: (Note: At the time of this writing this video has 36 Likes…5+ Hours after airing. Mine will be the fourth comment…5 hours after. THIS IS AN NBA FRANCHISE AND MY FRIEND'S DOG'S IG HAS MORE FOLLOWERS THAN OUR TEAMS OFFICIAL CHANNEL. If that's not a Red Flag and indicator of LACK of interest in our team, hold onto your butts.)
Not a fan of the pick, or how the draft went. Frankly, we aren't a contender or even close IMO; Zion has shown awful decision-making, and appears to have sycophant's surrounding him telling him he's s**ting gold when he's shown to be more interested in working out ratchets and watching anime than being a team player and taking care of his body. We all know the talent but the best ability is availability – and he's a joke, in that regard, not only around the league but around the world now.
We should have either traded Zion, or found an NBA ready player to fill his role. I'm so sick of drafting late lottery and/or trading back. Yes, I realize that Herb, JA and Trey III are fantastic finds – but it's somewhat doubtful any will make an ASG (maybe Trey) let alone be a huge piece of a contending team.
To me, this isn't "Okay" because I'm sick of "Okay". We should have swung big. Just look at the numbers for views on anything Pels related and it's obvious all but die-hard fans are sick of the middle-of-the-road/play-in, and the best we can hope for is a second round exit and that's just not good enough anymore IMO.
I'm sure Jordan is a solid player. We have a roster of solid (role) players. BI is great, and really a FANTASTIC No. 2…but we're not going to win big with BI being our No. 1. We've sat on assets for years and years now and what do we have to show for it but some good role players, and a first round exit in 2021? Not much.
So, yeah – I'm certain I'll catch flack but honestly I'm sort of fed up with this team right now. Griffin has meandered and hummed-and-hawed and what do we have to show for it but two above-average role players, Herb (amazing defender, but that's not going to win chips), DD (meh) and busts. WE HAD a war chest of assets and…nothing. It's pathetic IMO, and I've been positive, and a Griff defender and I'm done. Fire his ass.
Zion is going to demand a trade. It's going to happen, people. So why, WHY didn't we trade him? Dame expressed interest in Zion…so I refuse to believe they wouldn't have jumped at a chance to get him. It's not about Zion, it's about keeping Dame, and keeping Dame happy. Point is, we have assets that could have made it work. We've had the assets to do a lot more than we have, and we've traded back over and over or stand put with late lottery. I get that yes, Jokic was a 2nd rounder; Jordan doesn't have that ceiling. This was the most vanilla pick we could have gone with.
Not a fan. Really, really not a fan of how this played out. Very unhappy with the team and Griffin needs to be fired. I'd rather watch a scrappy rookie team like the Rockets than a bunch of solid role players, BI and Zion in street clothes (until his "That's All Folks!" moment or when they do a desperation trade mid-season/end-of-season).
Winning cures all, and this was not a winning move. I understand neither is drafting a rookie, but that's short-term; Scoot and BI would have given us some hope, at least.
ADDITIONALLY: The team has SERIOUS cap space issues and is one of only 2 teams to never pay the Luxury Tax…yet we didn't move Zion. Good grief, the more I think about it things just get worst and worst.
David Griffin needs to go.
