The Warriors pulled off a bombshell trade paying the Wizards two picks to get off Jordan Poole’s contract for Chris Paul. It’s a dramatic move but there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes.

Poole gonna be the #1 on the Wizards. He's about to go ballistic knowing all the baddies in the Wizards stadium will be there to see him since all the others are bums
Why would they 'depend' on him. He'll be perfect as a backup or when Steph is resting.

Pool needs a recovery punch
Assuming the Warriors re-sign Draymond this year and Klay next year, even with significant pay cuts the Warriors are going to be well over the cap for a few years yet.
Which means that they absolutely cannot waive Paul.
Pay him this year without having him, when they are way over the cap before doing anything with Draymond.
Likewise lose him for nothing next year, when his non-guaranteed contract will be an amazing asset.
Chris Paul should come off the bench this year, hopefully help him stay healthy for a playoff run, where he can step up to his regular season starter self (still off the bench) instead of being a starter all year then trying to up his game to playoff version and getting injured.
Definitely underrating Tyus Jones. I think Poole and Tyus are about to go off.

cp3 only usuable in regular season, then it's choking or injuries so probably a good move to trade him just before playoffs

GP2 isn't a ball handler and Dontae may not be back. CP3 will lead the bench and the minutes when Steph isn't on the floor

That comparison to Lakers was a bad example, CP3 sets entire plays while Melo at this point was just a shooter.
