The Boston Celtics have selected Arkansas guard Jordan Walsh in the 2023 NBA Draft. This comes after Brad Stevens and Boston traded down several times, and did so again when they were slated to have the #39 overall pick. The Boston Celtics made ALL of the trades before finally making a pick in Round 2.
The Celtics originally had pick #25, but traded down in Round 1 with the Detroit Pistons. Here are the trade details:
– Celtics Get: #31 Pick & future 2nd round picks
– Pistons Get: #25 Pick, used on Marcus Sasser (G, Houston)
The Celtics then traded down AGAIN, getting 2 picks from the Hornets. Here are those trade details:
– Celtics Get: #34 Pick & #39 Pick
– Hornets Get: #31 Pick, used on James Nnaji (Big, Barcelona)
Here’s the 3rd trade Boston made:
– Celtics Get: #38 Pick and future 2nd Rounder
– Kings Get: #34 Pick, used on Colby Jones (F, Xavier)

This was very weird ass draft. A lot of very unexpected moves.
Like I can't get over Trayce Jackson-Davis falling as far as he did,when almost every projection I saw and many podcasts were saying he was likely in the 20-28 range in the first round.
Like I know he is undersized for a Center, but he is second all time in school history in points scored, 1st in rebounds and first in blocked shots as well as a 2 time all-american. So it shocked me that he wasn't drafted higher. The same as James Nnaji and Emoni Bates. Was surprised to see them fall.
Also, can anyone answer who the hell is Jalen Swanson? Like no height, weight, position, etc information on the NBA site or app. (went 54. To Sacramento).
I get that he isn't a Celtic, at least yet , But the Celtics traded so many times I couldn't keep up. 😂

As a sports page you should understand we traded out the first round to avoid a guaranteed contract for a 2 way contract. we got a great defender and energy guy. How could you be mad we saved money and got more assets?
Walsh is not Williams as his touch is not there. I think he's like Aaron Gordon, which is why Brad kept him. He's a bit bigger/longer than Gordon and slightly less athletic (9 foot standing reach and 36" vertical). Gordon also had a bad touch on his jumper until this year.

playmaking; good
ball security: good
net rating: good
defense: great
rebounding; good
so nothing elite. defense would come closest, sucks on offense, decent everywhere else. does it sound like a certain pg we know?
I genuinely think Walsh can be that “heart and soul” culture kind of guy like Smart was, a young guy who’s got a chip on his shoulder and a great defender! I think this was a great pick as a Marcus smart replacement, only now he’s a wing
I also think the pick up of all these extra picks is foreshadowing a big trade

So we had 35th pick then move up to 25 with smart trade. Then they trade back it was pointless. It was longest 2 hours of my life. They were so close to getting guy dropped from 4 to 20 why not try to move up little or even Clowney. I dont see the value off these 2nds they never amount to anything. Like playing video game and stacking 59 overalls with D potential. You turned 1st round into 4 2nds but it would take 4 2nd rounds to get a first so you just broke dollar into 4 quarters.

The knock on him is , he needs to develop his shot and a consistent 3 pointer, if had this I would give him a A, but as is a defensive monster a solid B
Their target at 25 was olivier maxence prosper, when he was off the board they decided to keep trading down.
But if Dallas need grant williams in a sign and trade, boston will request him in the deal.
