Ok this is hilarious, but does he (and bridges coming back) help the hornets enough to make the playoffs next year so that their protected pick conveys? It’s fairly possible spurs have 3 1st round picks between 7 and 15 in 2024.

If the Hornets can stay healthy, they have a chance. But the East should be even tougher last year than it was last year, so I wouldn’t bet on it.

Hornets are getting back Miles Bridges who didn’t play last year and Melo who barely played

They were a 43 win team 2 years ago on the back of these two. Brandon Miller should be a nice 3&D wing as a rookie and Mark Williams helped fix their terrible interior D last year when he played. Could easily see them squeak into the playoffs

Ahead of them I’d say in no particular order:

Comfortably: Boston, Philly, Bucks, Heat, Cavs

Then you got teams like Knicks, Raptors, Magic who’ll also be fighting it out. I don’t think they make it but who knows

idk but be sure that i will support them like crazy, please get us the 17th pick

Man Miller’s been on a absolute roll with questionable sound bites the last couple of weeks 😅😂

Obviously that team has about as much of a chance as making the finals as I do of getting a call from the New York Yankees tomorrow

With that said, I actually can see them as a sneaky playoff team. Everyone made a big deal about the east being better than the west, but outside of the top couple of teams, the bottom of the east was significantly less competitive, and is filled with less potential risers, then the west

Spots 10 through 6 should be completely open depending on injuries and age-related decline of some of the groups normally pegged into those spots.

Mark Williams was awesome the last 2 months of the season and as much as he is a scumbag bridges coming back gives them a pretty intriguing young front court between them and Miller. If Hayward and ball. Stay healthy. They honestly have a pretty good top 8-10 man rotation between ball, rozoer, Hayward, Miller, bridges, Washington, Williams, oubre Jr, and Richards.

Most of those guys have proven they can score between 15 to 20 a game over the last couple of seasons plus a couple of young interesting players.

I don’t think they’re going to blow up or anything but then winning something like 40 to 45 games and nabbing the eight seed wouldn’t be surprising at all.

The nets, Hawks, heat, raptors, bulls all have some real question marks Yes even the NBA finals Miami heat. They relied on like five guys all having career best shooting months at the same time and I wouldn’t bet on that for a full season.

The pacers and the magic are both up and coming young teams but both have some serious question marks about where they’re scoring is going to come from. The magic are immensely talented. But they’re also an extremely clunky roster that probably needs some trimming sooner than later. I like the pacers but They really lack two-way players imo. I could see them still being better than the hornets but they’re no surefire thing

The wizards are going to be at the bottom with the pistons.

So if we’re assuming that the magic and the pacers are going to be better and playoff/ plan level teams, the hornets only need to be better than two of the dysfunctional hawks, the WTF are you even doing right now? Bulls, a raptors team that appears to have lost the script on what they want to do with roster building, and an ancient heat team That’s going to have to pay a lot of their overachieving role players and who’s best players aren’t getting younger

I think they have a fair shot

Idk but the chances of them making the playoffs this year or next are much higher ppl are giving them credit for

If they somehow trade for GOAT Paul George….nah, still not happening, but they could slip into the bottom end of the playoffs, so there is hope for us to use that pick.

If we have an opportunity to make a trade, its still the first asset I slap down on the table.
