Boston Celtics traded for Kristaps Porzingis, the 27-year-old Latvian big. Here are his best highlights from the 2022-23 NBA Season as he averaged 23.2 PPG (50-39-85 shooting splits), 8.4 RPG, 2.7 APG and 1.5 BPG in 65 games played for Washington Wizards.

  1. I am also going to make a tribute video for Marcus Smart, who was traded to the Grizzlies, but I am gonna need some time — to process this trade, and the fact that he won't be wearing green jersey anymore, but also to make that tribute video something special. He desreves it for all these years of HUSTLING. Love & trust. Always.

  2. Forgive me for this comparison, I don't mean they are 100% the same player

But if Porzingis can play that Garnett role where he reduced his offense and became more of a backline defender, rim protector, high post passer, and inside offensive post scorer for the Celtics, it can do wonders for this team and make them the unquestioned favorite to win it all this upcoming season

  3. Hey, JB (and JT), note the back door cuts to the basket. Apparently, KP likes to find his teammates for those. The Celtics should make use of this.

  4. KP looks great but CELTICS without Marcus? No way…Marcus was always yelling at guys and really a role model for everyone, his leadership, hustle and everything will never be replaced. Celtics traded IT for Kyrie, and the team really wasn't better than IT's era. Same shit happens again. KP is definitely what the team needed, but you cannot trade Marcus away…Dudes are human, they have feelings, they know Marcus was the guy, he represented what a Celtic means, and he's even one of the best player in playoffs this season…GOD! I thought the team will trade Marcus only if we acquire LUKA or JOKIC…Again, KP is great but Marcus just soooo important to this team. Now a simple losing streak like 5 or 6 games can kill this team, no one will step up and say 'Hey guys, we need to make some changes!' Celtics be no home for nobody, it's pretty strange to me.

  5. This puts a lot of pressure on Kristaps and the C’s to perform next year. Marcus was probably the most beloved Celtic of the last decade. Glad to see him go to a contending team where he should fit in perfectly. Thank you for all the memories Marcus, #36 in the playbook #1 in our hearts, true Celtic forever.

  6. Obviously this is a talented man, but I don't like the idea of having 2 injury prone bigs on the team.

  7. Always said we need someone like KP in our team… Wasn't expecting we get one by trading away smart…. Sad and excited at the same time.

  8. Sucks to see Smart go but this was the right move. Celtics has hit their ceiling with Smart as their point guard.

  9. It's tough seeing Marcus Smart go, but having Porzingis could help with the scoring load from the Jays. Last season Tatum was avg 30, Brown with 26 and their 3rd leading scorer was Brogdon off the bench with 14.

If Kristaps can stay healthy and average 18-19ppg, then the team will be more balanced.

  10. I would feel better about this trade if we didn't know that their plan initially was to keep smart and trade brogden. Feels like they panicked

  11. This trade shouldn't have come down to the last minute is the thing. Marcus should still be here. And even if it came down to the last minute the celtics should have had better options.

  12. The only parts he beat the shit of man of his own size in this highlight are against KAT…I can't imagine what Embid and Lopez are going to do to him next season. Basicly what this video tells me is he is a very tall shooter who fades away even when he is in low post against guards.

  13. I’m sad to see Marcus go, as any C’s fan would be. But man watching these highlights I just couldn’t believe how skilled KP is and crafty in the post. Pulling up from 28 feet effortlessly is also insane and he guards the pick and roll so well. I’m so excited to see how this Celtics team is going to look next year☘️

  14. Celtics needed a stretch big and got one of the best in the game, hard to complain about that even with losing Smart. Hopefully he stays healthy.

  15. We all will miss Smart dearly, but we all agreed that something had to get changed up. This core has been right there for the last five years and continues to just come up short.Brad was able to get a very good player for Smart and the deal makes sense to me. Kristaps brings a ton to the table, and I'm excited to see him play with this team. Can't wait!

  16. Listen up fan boys!! This trade makes the Celts a better team period. Porzingis is going to fit in perfect, he's the exact type of player they need on that team. Smart is aging and his skill set will start to decline as soon as this season. Celtics have a legitimate big 3 now

  17. Smart was sacrificed.
    Such a shame.
I welcome Tingus Pingus but with a heavy heart.
Seeing Smart with blue hair will hurt.

  18. He could alternate Grant Williams. Celtics needs defensive player like him, but Grant wants more role.

  19. He's going to be a difference maker for sure but I really hate seeing Marcus Smart go…If they keep him for the long run how does he mix with Rob Williams ? Play him as a Power Foward or play him at the Center position…?

  20. This guy will be huge for us if he can stay healthy, we can throw it to him in the post when the threes aren’t falling, reminds me of a taller Kevin McHale.

  21. Brad is a genius. While everyone else was sleeping on KP, he was putting together multiple 3 team deals to make sure we grabbed him before the deadline. People are truly undervaluing this guy. He is ranked right up there between Tatum and Brown in a stat like PER. He has the potential to dominate along those two. This could be the step we needed to win banner 18.

  22. I gotta say this I didn't know he went this hard last year. Always thought he'd be one of the best before his injury. Guy looks STRONG here

  23. How did golden state just let this happen🤦🏾‍♂️… this exactly what they needed…. Boston just took another step forward with this one
