nah, I've seen this movie before. 2000s Los Angeles Clippers. Darius Miles, Quentin Richardson, Kandi Man, Lamar Odom, Corey Maggette, Elton Brand. Young, ridiculously athletic, but leaderless and with a losing, toxic culture.
if Denver and Miami proved one thing this season, it's that culture beats talent (Denver had both, which is why they won). Rocket's culture is an absolute mess. the inmates run the asylum, just like with the early 2000s Clippers, and it will probably end the same way. Cam especially seems to be a kid who needs discipline and role models, and he'll find neither in Houston.

The worst thing this team could do is try to make the playoffs this year. They are a team with a ton of potential but they have a serious maturity problem. Ime Will help with that. I think Amin will as well, but you can't expect a rookie to be the cultural shifter. Take a year to think in terms of development, and then the year after start to really push. And bringing in Harden, one of the most immature players in the league, would be a huge mistake, for a lot of reasons.

It's nice when you have a team full of kids who everyone assumes will become all stars at some point in their career.
All those kids will have to play behind vets. The Rockets have to pay the CBA minimum so they need to pay some vets. And playing time isn’t guaranteed, it will have to be earned this year.
