Simons is a dynamic young guard who can finish at the rim and has range. In many ways, he does what Scoot and Rozier do on a similar contract. Frees up minutes for Miller and they bring back Miles. Thoughts?

Pretty good suggestion honestly but i think Portland hangs up the phone
Miller wouldn’t play PF, I don’t see the overlap with PJ.
I don’t think adding Miller makes PJ expendable like they insinuate in the article. But this trade would be solid if the plan is to bring back Miles. We would probably need to speed up getting off of Terry at that point
I like simons but don’t think he fits with this roster. How do we find minutes for him with ball and Terry? And isn’t simons pretty bad defensively.
Seems like a good move for Portland and a senseless move for us
Pretty sure PJ is coming back. I think they really like his development trajectory. I think Terry is the guy they should be looking to move.
I honestly wouldn’t be mad at this…idk if PJ has a long term spot here to begin with. Bringing back a young guard we could play next to Melo would be a nice return.
Unless they’re also including Kris Murray, heck no to this proposal. Paying over $40 million to very similar players in Simons and Rozier would be roster management malpractice.
Melo and simons at the 1 and 2 miller at the 3 bridges at the 4 once he is back and mark at the 5 with Terry Oubre Gordon Kai and Nick off the bench sounds like a good team
Y’all remember when PJ broke the franchise record for made 3s in his first NBA game? Yeahhh.. me too.
Players like Simons exists in bunches. There’s no reason to consider trading our most reliable young player thats a good role playing forward for an overpaid dude that does the exact same thing as Rozier.
I think we should hold on to P.J. he’s the type of guy you need to win. Miles improved his handles last we saw him he can slot in to the 3 imo. Simons is a flamethrower and I respect his game but he’s too tiny
Small ball center Brandon Miller incoming. o/
I dont really see Portland wanting to do that trade
Portland fan here, it seems like between Portland’s guards and Charlotte’s forwards there should be some smart trade for both teams.
No. Their premise is flawed to begin with, that moving PJ would ‘free up minutes for Brandon Miller’
Miller is more likely to clash with Simons minutes than PJ minutes in his rookie year.
We have enough to go around for PJ, Miles, and Miller. Hornets should be stockpiling talent, not worrying about who will start
Why is everybody so deadset on shipping off PJ or playing Miles at the 4? Miles had his best spurts playing the 3 with PJ playing 4 and they play off of each other well. Miller easily slots in as a 2 and makes Terry expendable if anyone. If we ship off PJ we have an undersized Bridges playing 4 with only JT Thor for backup and leaves us dangerously thin on the wing.
As in Ben Simmons? Hell no
Nah, unless we include Rozier in the deal. Kinda like:
POR gets Rozier, PJ
BKN gets Simons, Watford/Keon
CLT gets DFS, Whitehead
Defense and shooting wins, hard to get both at the 4 on a good level. Keep PJ
