MAJOR REPORT: Kyrie Irving Re-Signing With Dallas Mavericks Per Adrian Wojnarowski | Mavs Rumors



Kyrie Irving is reportedly staying with the Mavericks in 2023 NBA Free Agency! According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski Kyrie is expected to return to the Mavericks after they traded for him at the 2023 NBA trade deadline. The Mavericks are the only expected suitors for Irving in 2023 NBA free agency, with other teams turning their attention elsewhere. Mavs GM Nico Harrison and Mark Cuban were confident Irving will re-sign, and all signs point to him re-joining Luka Doncic and the Mavs for the foreseeable future.

Adrian Wojnarowski via ESPN on Kyrie Irving:
“The market for Kyrie Irving [in terms of] legitimate places that he would leave Dallas for that makes sense [and] that are available to him [are] extremely limited. Perhaps almost nil. I think the full expectation is that he returns to Dallas. The question will be, ‘What kind of a deal does he go back on?’ How many years on a contract? I don’t think the money will be as much of an issue as how many fully guaranteed years there are for Kyrie Irving. I think that’s where the negotiation will be between him and the Mavericks. If he wants to maximize his money on this deal, the place to do that is in Dallas. If he wants a chance to win and make a lot of money, or certainly win at a certain level, playing with Luka Doncic — they certainly have much more to do with that roster, but certainly a very formidable one-two punch with the Mavericks. It is back in Dallas again. The question will be, ‘How many years is that deal?’ What kind of a commitment do the Mavericks make to Kyrie?”

    Yuta wattanabe coming off a 1-yr, 1.8 million dollar deal, cheap free agent, tenacious and aggressive, versatile defender with a high motor. Shoots the ball at over 50% from 3 and former teammate of kyrie, guys a warrior and would be a great addition who can do what we needed from finney-smith and bullock COMBINED, if you don’t believe me watch his highlights.

    Oh I remember everyone saying it was 99% certainty or more that JB was resigning in Dallas.
    I will always remember it because I was like two voices that kept stating that it's closer to 99% that he leaves than stays.

    Then again, That's why Jerry Jones and Cubes kept selling out area's/stadiums without actually doing anything to deserve it. Optimism and Stupidity walk hand in hand.

    P.S. I think Kyrie has little option other than Dallas. The only thing I worry about is him blowing a lid when he doesn't get the Max(like he did last year). Hopefully his agent has let him know he's not getting the Max anywhere unless dallas gives it to him and if they are smart they won't.

    @Harrison. Love the show. But I have to say the Little Mavs are not in the Luxory tax. which is set at 165m.
    Their top 12 guys(I'm throwing in Powell at 12 with the vet min and Kyrie at 40) is 152 mil which leaves 13 million more.
    So they could easily sign two more vet mins and have 8 mil left over.(if Kyrie wants to be a cry baby and Cubes caves in, That 8 mil more is around the max.

    Mavs are gonna have the Full MLE unless they Fool around.

    I’m a firm believer that this franchise needs brand new faces. THJ, Dwight Powell, Reggie Bullock, and Maxi (for the right piece) all have to go. It’s been long overdue. We had a great draft night now we need a great free agency. Mffl
