[Justin Russo] With them waiving Eric Gordon, the Clippers could get under the second-apron line by renouncing Mason Plumlee’s bird rights and finding a taker for Marcus Morris Sr. or Norman Powell. This just feels like a cost-cutting move, which is rather tough to swallow.

It’s not tough to swallow. It opens up minutes for the younger players.

Lmao why would a cost cutting move be tough to swallow

Ballmers made it clear he’s not paying another 200 million next season just for the team to be ass.

It’d be the highest payroll in history for such an ass roster, it makes sense they’re trying to dump guys

Houston is the only team with real cap space. Indy could also absorb Mook’s contract if they wanted and there are also teams with trade exceptions but I don’t know them off the top of my head. I’d much rather keep trying to float a Mook+Norm package for something though, because just dumping Mook and losing Plumlee means we’re running back a worse team than last year

How is it a tough swallow? It’s addition by subtraction. I want more bones, moose, and Boston minutes. Stfu Justin.

Would Mook’s salary still count against salary cap if we buy him out?

Losing Norm is tolerable if we can get a FRP in return + Russ return being guaranteed.

Not having to watch a bunch of 35 year old role players going through the motions sounds like a win to me

  7. People don’t understand that teams are trying to get under the 2nd apron because it prohibits the roster moves the team can make. Luxury tax is only half of it.
