Can Boston Celtics get Jaylen Brown to take less than supermax to help sign Grant Williams?



The new CBA is officially official, and amazingly, there weren’t a whole lot of surprises in there, but there are still questions about its impact. Is there a way for Jaylen Brown to take less and maybe help re-sign Grant Williams in a way that actually benefits him more than just taking the supermax?     The only way Brown takes less is if Brown himself offers to take less for the cap but that’s unlikely. .

    I don’t think people understand how bad the roster would be once the Tatum supermax kicks in. If they give it to him the title window is in the next 1-2 years after that they will never have the talent on the roster like they do now and with the porzingis likely extension three guys could make up around 80% of the CAP THREEE GUYS THATS INSANE. Jaylen is not worth that much money I’m sorry

    Sure, there might be better options than Grant…for Grant-level Money. I laugh at all the "geniuses" out there thinking Grant's JAG. Saw a guy say they should offer him $8M for 2 years–less AAV than the TP mid; in a league where guys will be making 13X that.

    No chance. I’m a huge jb fan but I’d be shocked if he took a cent less I feel like he’s just against taking less money as a principle. Especially after seeing how they did IT and how they did Marcus there’s really no reason for him to be the noble knight and sacrifice his money for the team when the team is not loyal to its players. On top of that he’s been in trade talks constantly for years. He’s unfortunately gonna take the most money he can get and who can really blame him. It’s a business
