Hopefully just for a minimum contract..

  2. FireFlyz351

Powell for the min is fine. If he’s still our starter come opening day then we should be rioting.

  3. Jlibs_21

Vet min or we storm the AAC like it’s the Bastille

  4. Beef_Dirky

Shit they shoulda just asked me I could have told them that.

  5. TheDeadman95

Gonna be another one of *those* FA summers, isn’t it?

  6. inyokoolaid

Dwight knows where the bodies are buried. This is not news, this is tradition.

  7. Powell gonna fuck around and get his number retired by the Mavs

The team was a disaster when he wasn’t on the court. People who don’t know ball can’t seem to grasp the importance of a good screen setter to the offense, and he’s one of the best. Just look at the numbers, +6.2 net rating with him on the floor, -3.1 without him. Even Luka has a negative net rating without Powell on the floor and +7 with him. It would be stupid to not resign him

Vet min for 8-10 min. off the bench sounds fine to me. But if he’s the opening-day starter, then something has gone VERY wrong.

  10. Vet min is fine im sure that’s what it is

  11. PM_ME_UR_RESPECT

I’d love to have him on the team as a third string center.

Now if we can just manage to re-sign Frank and Theo, this would be a perfect off-season 💪

  13. MastaMayne

I’m definitely okay with this let’s just make it an appropriate contract. He’s a leader and community staple

  14. CbBrown88

Great resigning for our bench center. Now let’s go get a starting C

Jesus H. Haven’t they done enough charity yet?

  16. cypherdust

Mark Cuban is going to force every metroplex family to name their firstborn Dwight

  17. LogicisGone

Obviously this is a good signing. The question is do we give him the max or supermax?

Y’all know he is starting and would play 20+ MPG if he comes back lol. This dude would never be a third string center, stop fooling yourselves lol.

  20. Afraid-Department-35

Ahh yes, starting Powell just on time.

  21. StefonDiggsHS

I would be surprised if we force him to resign

    It’s more like he re-signs

  22. Prize-Paint5264

Damn I want luke to fck off from this team and go to somewhere where can actually do something. Mark Cuban is a bad owner.

  23. prototypeplayer

#Resign is not the same thing as re-sign.

  24. coltrane-

I don’t mind having him, he just can’t play meaningful minutes anymore if we are serious about contending

I’m completely good with it. He can help get Lively mentored on the offensive and defensive tactics for the 5 with Luka. He can help both rookies transition into being Glue guys on the roster and professionals at the NBA level.

As long as he’s not clocking over 15 min a night. We’re in a good space. He’d be decent at the tail end of the second quarter. Or midway thru the third. The main problem is over relying on him for 35 min. Lively could immediately take half that. Another free agent acquisition could take another portion of that.

  27. sportsfrk1

Old news. His contract details were already leaked the other day… 4/160

Dwight’s really becoming our own Udonis Haslem at this point
