I will say this here because this is the only time I’ll have a Nick Friedell story. But when It was my 16th birthday (11 years ago), my parents surprised me with going to ESPN 1000’s studio for my birthday present. It was a pretty cool thing for me since I lived about 5 hours away from the city. But anyways I got to be inside the studio when Waddle and Silvy were doing their show, and I look up and Nick Friedell came walking in and I was pretty star struck (weird to be star struck by him now I think about it). But that was Rose’s mvp year and really cool to me. But he talked for me about 20 minutes when his segment was done about my interests, life, places to eat with my parents in the city and stuff I wanted to do when I got older. So I’ve had a soft spot for Nick for that reason.

I’ve been pretty gloomy in regards to the Bulls over the last couple of years, but Friedell is whole other type of terrible. It’s like he gets off on hating on the teams that he covers. I at least want the Bulls to ultimately improve and do well. Can’t say I’ll miss him at all on the podcasts I listen to.
