    – 2 year deals for all of NAW, Milton and Brown. The latter 2 have team options

    – Anthony Edwards will be given a 5/207m max and Jaden McDaniels will get an offer likely in the 9 figure range

    – The Wolves had offered more for Monte Morris than the single 2nd rounder they received from Detroit but were turned down

    – The Wolves attempted for Jevon Carter and had no chance at other target Bruce Brown so settled for Milton

    – All of the FA signings are capable shooters, all shooting above 38% from 3 last year

    – The Wolves were interested in bringing back Taurean Prince but he chose to take his paycut to go elsewhere than stay in Minnesota

    – Bruce Brown was their dream signing, but they became aware early on that he wanted to be elsewhere. There were also conversations with Joe Ingles until Orlando blew them out the water

    – DiVincenzo and Eric Gordon were also targets but the decision was made to maximise their spending by splitting it between players

  2. I think getting NAW, Shake, and Troy Brown Jr all for ~15 million per year is a great haul by Timberwolves free agency standards, but I’m not sure what exactly the vision is with these new signings plus our young guys.

Starters will be Conley, Ant, Jaden, KAT, Rudy. Naz 6th man. Kyle 7th man as a point forward. Then I guess Shake in the Jaylen Nowell role of ball handling bucket getter off the bench, and one of NAW or Troy Brown in the TP role as the bench wing. So that is the 9 man rotation, with the lesser of NAW/Brown battling with JMac and Moore for spot minutes as the 10th man.

So it’s nice to get a few cracks at finding a hidden gem by splitting up the MLE, but we now have a bit of a glut of ~8th-9th men type of players. There aren’t really any avenues for Moore or Minott to crack the rotation, either. And there is very little playmaking on the roster – so there is quite a lot of pressure on Conley and Slowmo.

Mostly just seems like the money for Troy Brown Jr could have been better allocated for someone a little less redundant with both NAW and Moore.

Man could you imagine if they were able to sign joe ingles for a good deal?

I think with what was offered, getting three guys on good deals is great. We really just need one or two of them to be solid, and the because we gave ourselves three options, we have a higher chance of succeeding.
