Tyler Herro?

It’s known that Ainge is a fan of Tyler Herro, and I think he’d be a great fit on the team. With the recent Lillard trade request and Miami being presumably one of his preferred destinations could we get involved and see if we can get Herro. Portland is already loaded with guards and simmons in particular is similar to Herro so not sure how much interest Portland would have in getting Herro via a trade, which is where we come in, we can offer sexton for salary matching purposes, the 2027 Lakers pick and the 2025 Cleveland pick for Herro.

Portland can get more draft assets which is likely preferable to them, we can get a guard in Herro who would suit Hardys offence and could become a PG, like how we seeKeyontae George. The picks given up don’t project to be that valuable as Cavs are a good team and if the lakers are awful the pick becomes a second round pick with it being top 4 protected

Herro is basically just a slightly better Clarkson, he’s not what we need. We need more passing and playmaking on the team, and that’s not Herro’s strength

Defensively he’s such a liability that you probably need game 6 Klay, Lauri, Hendricks and Kessler on the court with him.

Herro is not going to become a pg. This is a bad trade idea for our current roster composition.

I think Herro is pretty underrated. His efficiency is fine even though he’s grinding out high volume on a terrible offense, much better playmaker than people think, fantastic shooter. That being said if we trade two (mostly) unprotected first round picks and Sexton for the privilege of paying Tyler Herro 4/$130M Zanik needs to be fired immediately lol.
