After the Bradley Beal originally looked disastrous, the Wizards accumulated a good amount of draft capital with a young star in the making in Jordan Poole and a raw prospect in Bilal Coulibaly who could be a great two way player in the future.

I refuse to insult Bradley Beal cause for the past 11yrs outside of him getting hurt he's done his job. Him and John Wall are forever appreciated in DC. Wizards have the worst history in trades ( C.Webber for Mitch Richmond ☠️ ) so this trade was art, crafty, and trust the process. 🤦👍💯
Chris Paul had that much value because Poole's contract is a negative value contract. They should have gotten a bit more, imo. Not much, but less protections on that 1st rounder, for example
Beal had a monster contract which included a no trade clause and Porzingis could've just walked away. It's honestly incredible how the Front Office made this work. And we were able to secure Coulibaly who many project will be better than a lot of picks that came before him. Plus he's still growing.

Jordan definitely got the best end of this trade. People tend to still be talking crap but we'll see after the season starts. I'm sure he will be able to play to his potential playing with a team that respects his game. He's 23 years old had three great seasons so let's see where we go from 💙❤🤟
I find the Jordan Poole situation similar to James Harden when he arrived to the Rockets (both were age 23) and he accelerated the Rockets rebuild. Worse case, the Wizards will raise his value and can be flipped for more future assets

If any of these players become stars and I was the GM of a contender I'd just offer them 10,000 pick swaps for him. Because Washington don't seem to understand that a pick swap from them is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
I wouldn't call it fooling anybody, I think they took what they could get because it might sound good but in reality every deal was mid except for the swaps because they can turn into anything if they're lucky…
The Wizards are doing what the OKC did. Clearing cap space and acquiring draft picks through teams dumping bad contracts. No star is coming to DC unless they're out of their prime like Pierce and Westbrook. Draft and trades are the two best ways to get a star.

Nice breakdown. As a Wiz fan I will enjoy watching a young team and the "chess match" in the front office more than the product they put on the court last year.

Wizards didn’t fool anyone. Poole can’t lead no team. Without the spacing he was getting in GS his efficiency is guaranteed to drop combined with low effort defence this team isn’t going anywhere with him leading. Calling this a finesse when they gave up the best players in the trade and mostly got second round picks and swaps for a team that’s guaranteed be better than them is nuts.
