[Windhorst] Ramona Shelburne has reported and I have heard this as well, and I didn’t just hear it in the last three days. I heard it a while ago that Dame does indeed have interest in the San Antonio Spurs.

  1. I am apart of the small demographic that would like to see Dame on the spurs. Albeit not for a overpay though

I too have interest in playing for the national basketball association team known as the San Antonio Spurs. Get in line Dame.

I know everyone says we shouldn’t do this and to an extent I agree but we have enough capital to still be set up well. Dame, wemby, pops last ride will all make us a free agent destination and most importantly to me atleast letting pop go out with some weapons. Maybe he is gonna coach forever but I want to be competitive for pop now more than anything and he loves dame.

When I hear people saying we trade with Portland with assets like Vassell, Sochan or Keldon I vomit in my mouth, really hope we don’t do anything dumb.

This has got to be the first NBA rumor that no one believes (could realistically happen).

Spurs are not really in win-now mode right now, even with Wemby. The only way I see Dame ending up here is if the Spurs fleece everyone by offering picks and only vet players like Doug, Birch, and Devonte’. I don’t know how Dame would feel playing in a team full of under 25 year olds

Please help me understand how a profile like Dame fits in our timeline ?

You are Dame’s agent, please sell me your player.

  8. He is owed 64 mil his last year. Spurs not gonna happen.

  9. Chemical-Character79

They need to give us first round picks if they want us to take his bloated contract. Pass

[As I said in this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/NBASpurs/comments/14os1vp/evan_sidery_the_trail_blazers_do_not_plan_to/jqe9odz?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) the only way I would go for it is for that, basically CHA, TOR, CHI, ton of 2nds, and some of our subpar assets but that’s definitely not something that Portland would do, there’s certainly better packages out there. The only way for them to do that is if the GM truly wants to be tanking like crazy next year and be bad bad and if they wanna free up 60M the following season. Other than this, there are better stuff out there.

I don’t think dame would be worth the price. I do hope we get involved as a 3rd team and use some of our draft picks to get either herro or maybe take Lowry and a 1st.

  12. pepsidime

Not interested. Too much Blazer. Been there, done that.

  13. JamesDaquiri

Only way I’d be okay with this is if we absolutely fleeced them with a package that doesn’t include KJ/Vassell/Sochan/Branham/Wemby. Hell I don’t even want to give up Collins.

  14. Funniest part of this is Windhorst needing to say, “I heard this first”.

  15. Then-Activity7226

You’d have to gut the roster for him. Plus, you are assuming Wemby is who we think he is. That’s two’s gambles right there.

Okay, I’ll just add Dame to the list of superstars that enjoy *saying* they’d love to play for Pop, but actually don’t want to, because they know Pop’s going to criticize their poor shot selection and hero balling while asking them to play defense for the first time in their life. lol

  17. brendon_b

This is all just a leverage play to get the Heat to pony up enough so he can get there. Please ignore.

Next years free agency PG class is just as awful. And Dame is as good as they get even if he’s aging.

Basically if the Spurs don’t acquire someone now then that means they think someone on the current roster or a combination of players is good enough to be the main hall handler(s). Because drafting a PG in 24 will still leave us 2-3 years away from a winning solution.

Personality I think we’ll see a lot of point Sochan and Wemby even if it’s a lot of turnovers.

  19. adrenaline343

Depends on how Portland feels about a half dozen 2nd round picks. Cause that’s all I’d give lol

  20. GrumpyRaincloud

Having dame is great but I don’t think they’d accept any offer we could throw, even vassell and kj isn’t enough

  21. I am trying to remember a significant free agent who chose to come to the Spurs and can’t think of one. To be fair, there’s lots of stuff I can’t remember. Am I missing something?

  22. ktdotnova

I’d do Braham/Blake/Sikko and 2 firsts for Dame. Obviously that’s not enough I don’t think.

  23. EchoRespite

Can wait to see all the posts for or against adding Dame, the battle lines being drawn, the anger and name calling and then when the dust settles, we find out the Spurs were never really in the running for Dame and we all agree staying the course is a great option.

  24. It’s more likely that Timmy comes back on a vet min to play alongside Wemby

  25. CrissCrossAppleSos

It’d be fun, but to me, the significantly more *eyes emoji* part was McMahon mentioning the Yugoslavian Connection with Luka
