For those unaware, a headset dent is a rite of passage in the gaming community. Once you have achieved a headset dent you are allowed to obtain certain gaming items from the streaming service Twitch (gaming website.)
However, this may affect his intangibles and one court performance. As we usher in a generation of new players to the NBA, we are going to experience a few things that have never been seen before, and new rules may have to be created. I would not be surprised if the “Jordan Walsh rule” is implemented this season.
According to what little statistics we have on this currently, we understand that the headset dent is incredible for lateral movement on court. This allows for a more aerodynamic approach to defense. Additionally, players will be able to spot passes easier through the dent, which could actually be a detriment. Official data on this is not yet available.
I believe this is a genius move by Brad Stevens for this reason, what do you think?
