    >This does not necessarily mean though that president Masai Ujiri will begin clearing house and making trades just for the sake of changing his roster.

    >**In regards to Siakam, the Raptors have not shown a ton of willingness to engage in trade talks surrounding the two-time All-Star, sources said. They have however listened to offers coming their way and the Hawks have remained in constant conversation with the Raptors regarding Siakam.**

    >**Multiple offers and scenarios have been put together by the Hawks, but the Raptors have been hesitant in all discussions involving Siakam, sources said. While a level of interest may exist from Toronto’s point of view in what Atlanta has to offer, the idea of giving up Siakam has not sat well with some within the organization, as trading him may result in the Raptors taking a major step backwards.**

    >It is worth noting as well that the Hawks have been willing to discuss all options in their pursuit of Pascal Siakam as long as those talks do not involve Young. All-Star guard Dejounte Murray and forward De’Andre Hunter are their two best tradeable assets with Murray emerging as a possible target for Toronto in trade discussions, sources said, after VanVleet’s free agency decision

    >**This is where things have stalled, as the idea of moving Siakam in a package for a player like Murray does not necessarily move the needle in terms of Toronto improving their chances of competing in the Eastern Conference.**

Siakam when he gets all nba and the FO don’t offer him the super max

Bunch of hope from the league that they can have OG or Siakam. Our roster is set, start the season, none of this means anything.

Only way I see Pascal being traded is for multiple blue chip prospects or a young all-star that could be paired with Scottie/OG/GTJ/Gradey/Koloko going forward. Pascal’s our win-now asset. If we part with him, it means it’s full steam ahead for building around Scottie’s timeline.

Good, Murray is trash, and he is the main salary coming our way. I would want additional compensation for taking on Murray.

    Would rather pay Pascal.

  6. It’s completely understandable the FO is probably split on how much they want to trade Siakam. On one hand, the on court fit with Scottie isn’t exactly the best, but on the other hand Pascal is the *very last* remaining contributor from 2019 (since OG was out the entire playoffs). It’s clear they value his off court contributions a lot, and as they should. It’s not just blind loyalty, it’s wanting core pieces from a championship team to be around to shape the culture going forward.

I still think it’s our best interest the move Siakam for pieces to build around Scottie, both for his development and future cap ramifications. But it’s easy to see how they’re hesitant about it.

  7. Wonder if a 3 team trade could be worked out to send Murray elsewhere if our FO feels he doesn’t move the needle

His contract situation scares me a bit too.

‘there is a belief amongst league circles’ – translation: we’re just making shit up as we go lolz

You dont give 20+ mil to Shroeder to rebuild. Wake up insiders!

The Raptors are always willing to discuss trade opportunities. As long as those trade opportunities aren’t shit.

Knowing what “league circles” believed at the trade deadline, this sounds like more empty speculation being reported as news.

Based on Will Lou repeatedly saying there would be “logistical reasons” the FO wouldn’t want to trade for murray (whatever that means), I’m assuming a trade would be Hunter + 2 of Okongwu, Bufkin, AJG, JJ, and sac 24 first. They need ball handling and shooting so I would assume either Bufkin or AJG needs to be one of those 2.

  13. This would have to be next level stupidity to trade for Murray knowing he will go into FA because it’s not financially wise for him to extend off his current deal.

This is pie in the sky bullshit coming from Atlanta. The value of an AllNBA forward is wayyy higher than AllStar guard. If the raps start making moves it will be to bottom out. That pick to the Spurs is top 6 protected and if you’re a bottom 3 team the chances of that pick falling outside the top 6 is 7%. That’s the move if you start trading the likes of Pascal, OG and others.

Dropping Dimes on Twitter said he’ll be traded soon. Mans can’t miss so I believe it

  15. Konfliction

Daily reminder: Masai will never openly tank while he traded away that years pick. He’ll look like an idiot if he tanks now.

  16. O we’re willing to talk but are the other teams willing to give fair value and not cry to their media sources about how we’re hard to deal with later
