Hawks are making a mistake if they trade for Siakam

Pascal is a nice player but giving up our youngsters for a guy that won’t resign is scary. Onyeka and AJ can’t be included in any deal or else this franchise is cooked.
Overall I hope the front office doesn’t pull the trigger.

Trading our young core + dj for a guy who’s heart is CLEARLY in Toronto would be the death of my fandom .. pascal is great don’t get me wrong at all .. but he’s not making us a championship contender probably not even a conference finals contender… risking your future for a potential rental could doom us .. not to mention the pick(s) we might have to add .. dear lord

I’m not convinced about a Siakam trade.
First there were reports saying that he would not want to resign with the team that traded for him potentially meaning a one year rental. The front office should have commitment from him before we trade.
Second, he’s going on 30. In most cases players aren’t as good at 34 as they are at 30.
Third we will likely be trading DJ ( who already cost 3 first rounders and a pick swap) plus 1-2 or our young players. OO, AJ, JJ Kobe and more picks putting us further in debt.
I think Siakam is a good player but not good enough to make deep playoff runs with as your second opinion. When you take into account the talent that we would have to give up, I’m not convinced that this puts us over the hump of getting out of the first round. If it goes bad we don’t have many resources to rebuild with. I hope we don’t do this trade
