Glimpses of Manu forreal. Able to create his own shots, solid pump fake, craftiness driving to the rim and finishing. Has solid hands on D.

The way y’all talked about this kid’s defense in the post draft threads, there’s no way he should even be sniffing 5 steals in a game
I love the pick more and more

Trying to remind myself it’s only summer league as I open up the Rookie of the Year odds

I’ve seen so many warriors smoke those straight on lay ins and baseline lay ins, it’s so refreshing to see someone skilled enough to do it. And he can go off the glass too.

OMG what a game by our new rookie. Not afraid to the body contact at all!

Crafty, smart, photographic memory, great feel for the game, and doesn’t get sped up by defenders.
The only knock on him that he can’t improve on is his athleticism (first step and wingspan). His handle needs to be a bit tighter but that’ll improve.
Other than that, the kid is going to learn from 2 HOF point guards, Dray, and even another smart pg in CoJo who has some similarities with his game (awkward tempo, crafty, likes to initiate contact for fouls type of guard). Also no pressure with as the 4th PG on the team.
He has everything he needs to succeed. I’m glad we got a PG that has great BBIQ to start with. He’s not an athletic beast but he got drafted 19 for a reason, and that’s more impressive than going top 10 because you just physically dominate everyone in college ball.

Anybody else notice he was standing up on the bench helping guys get in the right position on the court? He’s not lying when he said he already has a good grasp of the system. He clearly knows where he should be and where other guys should be. The fact he is so comfortable with it is a big bonus for a rookie.

on some of the plays, he does look a lot like Manu who he said he studied growing up. He definitely has the potentials, let’s see if Kerr will give him some play time.

Did he look a bit faster this game? If so, crazy how settling down can affect that. (Maybe he didn’t seem faster to anyone else lol).

Five steals is amazing, and these highlights show he got them with very active hands, not just gathering bad passes. His floater is a real asset, in some ways better than clever finishes at the rim. I remember how JP would often get blocked when he wasn’t quite quick enough to speed by defenders.
