What the hell is this? A competent off season?
Based on what Nico has done with what we started the off-season with, We def have some decent ammo left to upgrade @ center.
But I do think a true center upgrade isn’t going to come until harden/dame dominoes start to fall which could be awhile

Portland let’s Thybulle walk, Mavs get a defensive minded center
Zubac is a realistic answer if clippers trade guys like Norman Powell and Mann and other guys for Harden. They would need some shooting. THJ+McGee for Zu and Morris
The ammo we have: THJ Holmes McGee and the two seconds we got from trading Reggie.
Even if we can’t get a top center like Allen, we at least could dump off McGee now we have the 2nds to do that
Mavs have theses assets right now for trades
3 second round picks, 1 first round pick(must be unprotected though), Josh Green + pick swaps
They can use THJ, Mcgee and holmes(his salary can’t be aggregated once the trade is finalized though) to match salaries
Not sure what kinda caliber of center we can get with these assets but hopefully Nico works out something

They have the 2027 first round pick. They picked up two second round picks from the Grant Williams trade. They have THJ (18m), Holmes(12m), & McGee(6m) with contracts all in a tradeable range. They have plenty of ammo for a trade, I’m just not sure which player or what team would be interested.
Don’t say that Stein, i think the people here acting like signing Grant was the last thing we would do would be really mad at you

I was thinking…if they don’t upgrade center, this Mavs team should RUN. With the exception of Luka, they can go small ball and increase the pace. Even lively would be a perfect for an up tempo style.
The only and major question is of course Luka.
chill. we still have the assets to trade for a center but you are not gonna get a center thru free agency cause this FA center pool is so bad. Capela Gafford Zubac and Ayton are still on the table and probably Jarret Allen which will probably cost more. Gambling for Dwight and Boogie is not worth it in this day and age cause if it is teams like the lakers or suns would already be calling their asses
