I don’t know why we’re still talking about this here. There is no feasible reality where we can get Damian Lillard. Much less get Damian Lillard and still compete.

The eternal plight of small markets…

This case is especially gross considering Dame was happy to take the supermax one year ago and now is essentially totally screwing over Portland by forcing his way to only one team.

It’s annoying to watch small market teams like us have to give up what amounts to our entire future from a picks perspective to get a Jrue Holiday level player while a place like Miami can get a star player for basically nothing.

It’s just insane to me that Dame is doing the Blazers so dirty like this. I’ve lost a huge amount of respect for him.

  4. It’s a warning for other teams and is calling the bucks up and encouraging them to trade for dame

  5. make miami give away all their picks til 2030 if the trade goes

  6. This is why I dont watch anymore. Id much rather make my own universe in 2k because this political bullshit doesnt happen

Shit is so lame. Obviously this only works for a handful of stars in the game, but it hurts everyone. Now small market teams can’t even get the best possible return for their guys?

Dame will pull a harden to get to Miami. He will cause a toxic locker room until team is fed up

    reverse tampering or something

    fine him lol

Wouldn’t want a 33 year old career loser anyways. Then again we have Mr. Lackadaisical at PG so any upgrade will do.

Sussie that bitch for the season. Conduct detrimental to the team. Let him make his own decision when he becomes a FA. Tough pill to swallow not getting anything for a super star, but if I’m a billionaire, I’m not taking shit from some bitch ass multi millionaire.

I don’t get how NBA teams can get penalized for mutual interest engagement with players before a (completely arbitrary) date but it’s okay for Dame’s agent to basically shake off teams by threatening he won’t fulfill his end of the contract if he goes there.

If i was the denver gm im trading his ass to the team woth the best offer asap.

Its not like free agents are gonna choose portland.look at us and denver after championship seasons

  14. colesitzy

Portland should make him waste his career on the fucking bench.

I don’t know how to fix this, but the league needs to get some smart people in a room and figure this out.

I think the influx of international talent is really what has kept the league afloat, because otherwise I just don’t see how you can sustain 30 teams in this environment.

Such a pathetic move. Adam silver needs to step in or something. This is terrible for the future of the NBA and small markets especially

Why does he wanna go to the Heat so bad anyway? Don’t they got enough shooting guards already?

  18. guacamully

I don’t really blame Dame. Portland wasted a ton of his prime. I’m surprised Miami is the only place he’s willing to go though

  19. justReadingAgain

If it’s only Miami and if there’s no real players Portland wants and it’s all about the picks, I hope they hold out until the trade deadline, make him sit, and for even just one extra second round pick just because they can.
