Dame should've signed a shorter deal or push for a no-trade clause. It's his own fault he's in this situation now. It was obvious for years the Blazers front office can't build a contender around him. Now it comes down to their goodwill and in reality it's a business.
I'm a Heat fan for 20 years now and Lillard is my favorite player in the league so I absolutely want this to happen but at the same time I don't like how the Heat have been treating Herro for the past 2 years, putting him in trade scenarios for every aged, washed up former All-Star on the market. I think if Herro somehow is still on the Heat in 2 months, he should ask for a trade himself.
the biggest difference is the alot of the "media" are generating news stories, rather than reporting on them
no one held a gun to Dame's head to sign that extension without a "No Trade" clause
Wait a minute, he SPECULATES that Portland convinced Dame to sit the season so they get a higher pick so they can trade the better asset, and then condemns Portland for being hypocrites and not trading the asset. But he’s condemning them based purely on his own speculation.
What the hell grift is this?!?😂
If Cronin fumbles here he will be responsible for future stars demanding no trade clauses. They'll just say "look at what Portland did to Dame…😒".
Im surprised windy does have his own show
Windy and shannon sharpe show would be sick
Have no problem with Dame wanting out, my problem is when he tries to dictate where he goes, especially when where he goes doesn't have enough trade capital to make it worth it for the team he's leaving.
The demand to get information out comes from the media, not the fans… at least, everyone I know would rather have less but more substantial news, as opposed to the same thing spun a thousand different ways…
hornets been in a rebuild for 20+ years, plz basketball gods we need B Miller to be HIM
I’ve never understood why Portland isn’t a bigger FA destination, it’s a cool city.
Take a video about this , The world is now ruled by one community of people, the world Satanic elite, you can also call them the committee to meet the Antichrist and prevent the 2nd coming of Jesus, Trump called them the deep state, at the moment it consists of about 10,000 people, the main ones there are Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Windsors, Baruchs, they, their ancestors, descendants and other people who enter there have the mark of Lucifer, which, if they bring the antichrist and do not allow the 2nd coming, they will receive eternal life after the x hour, and the rest of humanity, for all the time that they have lived, they won't get anything, so all people should know about the existence of a world government (Jesus who was a The Prophet of God, not God.God will send Jesus as a reward to humanity, if humanity deserves it, for this it is necessary to fight Lucifer and his elite)
This podcast has given so much credibility to Windhorst. That man is a professional.
Everything you want to know about the Damian Lillard trade request is at 2:39
nobody blames dame for wanting out
what we blame him for is taking that massive contract extension that hampered the teams ability to win around him, then publicly dictating the terms of his trade demands
he never cared about winning until he got old. before that he was all about the money. writing is on the wall, his body cant keep up
years of screwing the team over because he "deserved" all that cap space, then screwing away all leverage portland has to get proper compensation for him.
but just wanting out? no. his contract is an albatross and will be a massive overpay possibly as early as next season. look at all the players like him in history, age 32 aint kind. imagine him at age 35 in the 26-27 season, alongside 37yo Jimmy, being paid a combined $111m between the two of them (+ another $19m for Nurk). that is a team whose 2027 first round pick i would value very highly.
The Nets wouldn't take the #3 and Simons for Bridges. What is Portland supposed to do if that combo doesn't have enough value to get a good player? They did the right thing.
Two Things:
1. Dame should have asked to be traded before the draft.
2. Portland needs to lookout for themselves and get the best possible package it can get.
People clowned dame for staying at Portland and now for wanting to go to Miami. Miami aren’t a superteam, just a team where he thinks he’ll be a missing piece.
Joe Cronin draft Scoot and Sharpe. Pays Simon's 100 mil. Trying to play 3 guards under 6-4 with lame. Who wouldn't want out?????
I can't see him without thinking of his game of zones half-man half-horse counterpart. "I am swift… Like the wind!"
They shoulda traded dame in 2019 after they got swept by the KD less warriors.
Its the blazers fault, they could've had a better package from the heat before the draft but they chose to not help dame and called his bluff now dame wants to go where he wants to go. Blazers should fulfill that
This is some incredible insight
Windy..you dissapoint me. I expect this kind of low IQ reporting from Shams and Stephen A Smith. Not from you. The Trail Blazers are bigger than Damian Lillard. They need to do right by themselves. They have given Dame the keys of the franchise. They couldn't get who they wanted in FA. Now, sure Dame can ask for a trade. But by creating this narrative by him, media mouthpieces and his agent they try and force the blazers to get a deal done with Miami who have f.a. to offer. THAT'S NOT RIGHT!!!
PDX messed this up years ago. Cj should of been traded 2-3 years before they did. It was obvious two undersized guards was not going to work. They should of went and got PG when he got traded out of Indiana.
I wouldn’t blame him. But he was also accepting all the loyal to the soil props, disapproving of others that didn’t do it like him, and even rapping about it. So while I don’t disapprove of player mobility I’m not a fan of saying one and doing the other. Can’t have your cake and eat it too. I feel like if you’re gonna speak up on it you should follow through.
Windy had enough of the Dame drama. He needs a vacation
Windhorst is absolutely correct about the "bonding" these NBA players experience as part of team USA Basketball. It goes all the back to when the NBA was first allowed to send pros to the Olympics. Ask Shaq where he got a new level of respect for Reggie Miller, team USA. LeBron, D Wade, Chris Bosh, C P 3, Mello, were already "friendly" from being in the same draft class, got to be real friends from spending time together with Team USA.
Same goes with newer generations of players that have been parts of tje junior and senior national teams. There is just something about representing your country, along side other players at your level – against the rest of the world of basketball, that offers these guys a chance to bond as "teammates" that has not been duplicated anywhere else.
☺
I hope Portland makes this a long process, sick of these players asking for a specific team. If he doesn’t go there then let’s see him actual sit and lose money
Man are yall serious? Lmaooooo
Asking out is one thing. He is demanding 1 team only. That really hurts Portland's leverage and will only hurt his chances of getting there. He should have spoke to the Blazers and told him he wanted to go to Miami so try to use other teams to get the best package from them. He should have told them secretly not publicly.
Bro the way windy explained on why the gave dame the extension w/ no clause and the blazers were ofc trading all the assests for picks n all, the blazers were lowkey tanking and planning for dame to leave, they just wanted dame to ask out instead of them doing it. If the blazers trade dame for quality players n picks they will have EASILY the best youth n picks of any rebuilding tema
Blazers owner and President/GM are the only ones at fault
People wanted Dame to leave and win a ring, but the minute he decideds to they turn on him. Ridiculous
