I think the Clippers run it back because you see when PG and Kawhi play in the postseason they are really good. That you have the hope that somehow one year they stay healthy in the postseason.
They sit some games to rest and they still get injured, they aré deep and bad luck or not they just can't get to the finals they had a 3-1 lead on the playofs and lost they had there chances
Kawhi is by far the best part time player we've ever seen. Dude can't stay healthy even with load management fully maxed out.
And whats worse is cuz he's so quiet you don't know what tf is going on with him u just accept that he's gone MIA for periods with some mysterious injury. Not a good enough leader for the rest of the team
The Clippers have, and will always be the B team in LA. The opening act that plays 12:30 pm games with the house lights on. A low class, carpet bagging team that has failed for 50 years in three different cities!
Since the Kawhi trade, the biggest concern is always about this team's health. We knew it will be challenging, but didn't know it's THAT challenging. Speaking of which, one year of injury problem is bad luck, but unable to keeping the whole team healthy seems more like a management issue. And if you add up the lob city era with Blake and CP3… perhaps the Clippers should hire new medi????
That is a misleading headline. They weren't a superteam. A superteam is a team with 3 or more All-Star players.
Every single NBA champion had at least 2 current All-Stars on that team except the 2011 Dallas Mavericks and the 2004 Detroit Pistons. That's like implying that every NBA champion was a super team.
2ndly the team wasnt $400 million. Even if the luxury tax burden was included it was never $400 million in one season. Unless you're trying to say over the past 4 years. Than that's every playoff and play in team except the thunder. Most NBA teams are over the salary cap
I think Paul George has done an admirable job, considering the massive amount of hate he got after that first year, he has had times where he’s played very well.
The only Clipper's objective is to beat the Lakers in the regular season, they'll be happy even though they don't win the NBA championship as long as they beat the Lakers in the regular season. That's all it matters to them… lol..
I think their problem is they put the faith in a guy who refuses to play an entire season regardless of health. PG is unlucky with health issues but Kawhi literally coined the phrase "load management"
I mean this title is a bit much. By that logic you could say teams like Washington paying beal supermax is a much bigger failure. A guy that cant even carry you to the play in get a supermax?
The clippers built a roster that is competent even without their stars in the line up. However, it's still not a perfect roster. They never really had a primary playmaker until russ showed up and other than Zubacs they are an extremely small team. If they were healthy this year they would've gotten crushed by the nuggets. 2022 might've been their best shot but the warriors were on another level so prob not. 2021 they would've lost to the bucks in the finals decisive fashion. And in 2020 they choked so.. I don't think they would've ever won anyways 🤷🏻♂️
Clippers gonna Clip! I truly believe that Leonard has lost his drive. Normally this happens from failure however in his case its from overachieving. The Toronto championship proved his place in the league and in NBA history, he proved he could win a ring without the Spurs and that they couldn't win without him. Since then he will turn on his talent and look like he is back to 100% only for him to shut it down and claim injury. The biggest problems is with management and ownership giving him full control of what happens with the team like the reports of him showing up late for flights and always being late for team functions because he lived a couple hours away and doing it all with zero punishment, punishment that any other player would receive if they did the same. When a player get special treatment over everyone else that locker room will turn toxic. You can't win a championship with a toxic locker room and they are proving that. You can't buy chemistry.
The media doesn’t talk about how bad this clippers team has been as much as they talk about how the Lakers fail even though the Lakers won a championship with the AD haul trade admist the Clippers putting that team together. They literally had everything defense, three point shooting, 2 two-way superstars, & were deep in depth they were the best team assembled and freaking blew it ! 2019-20 Roster had PG13, Kawhi, Terrence Mann, Pat Bev, Zubac, Montrezz, Lou Will, Marcus Morris, Landry Shamet, Reggie Jackson and even a championship coach Doc Rivers
In fairness at least you unlike others acknowledge that although it has been disappointing and frustrating we’d most likely would’ve won a title (21) and made multiple conference finals. Kawhi’s post season stats even with the clippers always gives me hope, but yeah after next year it’s time for a rebuild
I think the problem is that Kawhi is kinda overrated. And before everyone jumps down my throat, overrated doesn’t mean bad or even average. But for awhile, people were saying he was a top 5, top 3 player IN THE WHOLE LEAGUE.
I think his attitude alone prevents him from being a top, top talent. He acted like a brat in SA, hit it and quit it in Toronto, and then became the player who needed so much rest you wonder if he’s still playing for the Clippers.
When are they healthy? The rule of insanity is trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. kawhi play trough injury in Toronto because he was playing for a contract , he was also lucky that the warriors fell apart with injuries. Kawhi is good but injury prone even more than AD is . And that is scary.
The Clippers have been a major letdown. However, saying they've had no 50-win seasons, while true, is a bit misleading. Both 2019-20 and 2020-21 were shortened seasons, and the Clips went 49-23 and 47-25 respectively in those years, better than a 50-win pace.

It's a good thing Balmer loves toilets . They are going to be in the toilets for awhile
They sit some games to rest and they still get injured, they aré deep and bad luck or not they just can't get to the finals they had a 3-1 lead on the playofs and lost they had there chances
They have to keep running it back until they have their picks back. No point in trading ANY GOOD PLAYERS. Extend everyone thru 2026 and THEN move on.
blow the team up and start over again, same team next season will give the same result

When Kawhibaby isnt injured, hes faking an injury. When hes healthy, he's taking the day off for load management. The dude sucks.

Clippers fans are delusional also saying they are the best team in LA.
Either they choke or get wheeled into the ICU. Yup, owner needs to rebuild. He needs to remove the bad luck his 2 superstars bring him.

I really think Ballmer should consider Clippy as the new mascot.
I think their problem is they put the faith in a guy who refuses to play an entire season regardless of health. PG is unlucky with health issues but Kawhi literally coined the phrase "load management"
Are you taking about the Nets Suns mavericks ?
Start from the top. Trade Leonard and George.
I mean this title is a bit much. By that logic you could say teams like Washington paying beal supermax is a much bigger failure. A guy that cant even carry you to the play in get a supermax?
They should 100 % blow it up trade everyone who has value tank for the next three seasons and see what you can build that way.
i dont see them both staying healthy as even having a 1% chance

I think this super team term needs to be used as soon as they use one or maybe a couple of rings
Spurs fans be like "how's that Kawhi thing going?"
Westbrook is a FA, however, you’d be crazy to give him over $6M a year contract. He’s poison and past his prime.
they got doc "the choke" rivers 😂😂😅
Never win… They never play 😅
Clippers gonna Clip!

The clippers deserve to never win a championship

Blow it up, and get what you can for KL and PG, this team as constructed is never going to win. If you wait a year it will be TOO LATE.
Clippers always gonna Clip
.

How about this: the Clippers dump both guys to Portland. That seems good to me.

2 stars is a superteam?
