The Lakers kept all their productive players or improved those positions (except maybe Walker though Christie is making a case for himself in Summer League). Here’s a team that addressed two of its three main deficiencies (wing depth and shooting) while the team that swept them lost two key rotation players. The Lakers are in a great position entering the season. Hopefully both LeBron and AD got surgery and are already on the mend (assuming LeBron even needed surgery).

We’ve had a stellar off season. Idc about some dork named Bontemps taking shots, we took a WCF team and got demonstrably better. We’ve got some better shooting, a lot more size and length, and we’ve got our eyes on the last true weakness and that’s some more size.

More importantly we kept pieces we needed to and will have an opportunity for a full season with Dlo, Rui, Reaves, Vando, and Christie all taking big roles. This team is going to be really good. I can’t wait.

A lot of ppl said that after the Westbrook trade too. Let’s just get a solid training camp with a healthier team so we can build on last year.

  4. Feel like the people hating on the Lakers’ offseason just overlooking so many things. The argument I constantly see is just letting the contracts of Bamba/Beasley go for nothing. What these “analysts” fail to grasp is that by retaining Bamba/Beasley for a trade, you don’t just lose the ntpmle and bi-annual. Dennis is gone as well and current/future draft picks. A guy making $20-25m is not better than Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, and draft picks. Also a great point regarding the 17th pick. See too many people calling JHS a bust because he isn’t showing some superstar potential. It’s the 17th pick….. If he becomes a solid rotation piece, that’s already a good use of the pick.

I’d say it’s been great. We’ve added and improved at every position sans center but that’s clearly something Rob has been working on.

Why do we do this? Who cares? None of it is real until they play the games and we see how it works out. Just like draft grades.

A team that went to the WCF after being the 13 seed for most of the year and competed within 1-2 possessions of the eventual champions, who many proclaim as the best championship team since the KD warriors (not really sure on this one), just needed to keep the major pieces and make minor upgrades. And that’s what they did.
