Trade being far more likely than extension is crazy to me. Something really flipped a switch in the FO’s brain to completely switch up on Pascal.

He’s at his peak and this team is not close to contending even w/ him. Makes sense to maximize his trade value.

I have a theory that the Raptors are leaking these rumors and trying to bully Siakam into signing an extension

  5. And the value of trades might be trash now that his camp said he won’t re-sign to the team he’s traded to. I can see them being a little pissed about that because Fred played their hands as well, they definitely don’t want anymore assets walking. Either sign the extension and take the discount or they’ll trade him.

i don’t think hawks want to give up there younger dudes. streets saying they offering hunter, bey and draft capital

  7. This is such a dumb move if they do this. Obviously depending on what they get back but if it’s for draft picks it means they want to basically rebuild.

Yup. Definitely not a matter of if but now when.

It will be hilarious is Siakam will get a better return than Dame.

The FO wants Siakam to sign a non-supermax extension, so they’re leaking that they have multiple options to trade him. Pascal wants the opportunity to compete for a supermax, so his team says he loyal to Toronto.

While he very well might get traded, my two cents is we are seeing a careful negotiation play out across the press in real time.

They’re not going to trade him just to do it, regardless of FVV.

  11. Bobby and Masai running this team is like asking your girl what she wants for dinner “I don’t know, you decide”

  12. An OG-Scottie led team would probably stink. Neither are the scoring archetype that you need your #1 player to be. This team needs a star.

this front office has no plan it seems

As a jets fan this is Deja vu after the Dubois saga. The only difference is I like siakam

I think this the right thing to do. Doing it too late, unfortunately, a better front office wouldn’t have backed themselves into a corner like this and would have been rebuilding right now with the wind at their back, but you can’t go back in time.

Say it with me “Masai is a fraud who got lucky one time!”
