Mike Dunleavy Jr on CP3’s Usage: “I’ll defer the playing time to Steve. I’ll defer the load management stuff to Rick. On our end, we feel like we got a really good player who addresses (the need for) experience, taking care of the ball, decision making, ability to run pick-and-roll.” (1:11)

Man looks like he just got out of practice
I know words don’t equal success, but MDJ always seems to say the right thing. Tentatively optimistic so far
the end of that quote seems like a backhanded jab at Poole but I don’t think that’s what he was going for lol.
Why is Slater asking him (instead of Steve like MDJ deferred) a question about the possibility of reducing CP3’s expected mpg to begin with much less in early July?? 😭
Nice he’s talking total minutes and not starting role. It just makes no sense to force him into the starting lineup when Steph is healthy for appearances sake. He’s gonna play a lot. That’s all that matters.
Even if they try starting Paul, I doubt it would workout. The big concern is injuries and cp3 age. He for sure needs his minutes limited.
Cp3 needs to grow up and realize he literally cannot last a full season as a starter, nor is their a starting position for him available. its been that way for the last half decade, bruh inevitably gets hurt. But if he’s playing 25-28 minutes a night max with some back to backs sat out then we have a good chance of seeing him available most nights.
Call me crazy but if cp3 makes a fuss about coming off the bench I can see Steph being willing to come off the bench just because he cares about winning
i.e Steve hasn’t broken the bench bomb to him yet
I think he should come off the bench, and Kerr needs to experiment with him a with Cp3+Dray, Klay, OR Steph. Then later in the season, CP3 can close with a 3guard lineup when the matchups are right, or be on the bench when they need the size of Dray and Loondog.
