[Afseth] Summer Mavs coach Jared Dudley mentioned that Jaden Hardy wasn’t listening to play calls and dropping his head. He attributed a halftime talk from Shammgod for turning around Hardy’s play. “I thought [Jaden Hardy] played terribly [in the] first half. He wasn’t listening to the playcalls ..”

Because you’re forcing him to be something he’s not (playmaker/pg). Hardy is a pure scorer and giving him playmaking duties just throws him off his game. In the 4th quarter he said **** passing and became a scorer… That’s who he is and it’s ok.
To be fair he had a terrible first half, ha kinda deserves to be called out like this if he was ignoring play calls.
They really were in need of someone to just slow them down, get them playing under control. Glad they got things turned around.

He’s just a kid eager to prove something. With enough mentorship thing will turn around for him.
Honestly Hardy deserves this callout by Dudley, that was some horrendous basketball. He has real expectations on him this year as a 2nd year player. He should be killing these games as a guy with real NBA experience. Disappointing but hope he bounces back
