Chris Paul has been extremely eager in his 1st few meetings with GSW, a source told ESPN, telling them he’s ready to embrace ball movement, organized chaos style of play & do whatever it takes to win. What GSW wants from him: dont turn the ball over, make assists & organize the 2nd unit sources said

are you the coach?
Chris Paul is 38 years old. He’s still a very good player, but he’s fully baked. Asking him to embrace an entirely new way of playing doesn’t sound wise to me.
Kerr, frustrating though he is at times, has proven that his system works. Still, I hope he lets Chris Paul play his style. Systems are great, but sometimes you need to adapt to the players you have. CP3 seems like a good example of a guy who needs to be respected and embraced for what he is.
Just hoping Kerr can be a little flexible with an aging future hall of famer.
Basically be the opposite of Jordan Poole
Thank you! Having him run the second unit is his most important job. It’s not glamorous but it is needed. I hope he can take that role seriously
Depending on the matchup I could honestly see them closing some games with him tbh
is he eager to embrace the bench?
Over-qualified to run the 2nd unit, love it.
Paul is going to win 6th man of the year if he plays enough games
I thought Bontemps and Windhorst (shockingly tbh lol because they’re typically two of the saltiest when it comes to anything Warriors-related) were on point on a recent Hoops Collective podcast ep
with their takes on Chris Paul’s responses/reaction at his introductory presser to the questions from reporters that were framed under the assumption that he was coming off the bench. Time stamped link to the Hoops Collective segment where they talk about it [here](https://youtu.be/L4BaMCNFI8I?t=53m26s).
There’s a difference between not wanting to already cede to a reporter’s assumption that he’s now a bench player, this early in the off season/so soon after he was traded at that, given the career he’s had and the very healthy ego that was required to get him there, and knowing *and accepting* internally that that will now be his role and being ready when the time comes to fully embrace that role. We’re so used to Steph and his completely abnormal humility that we automatically assume any star that joins him will immediately take on that same humility, but that’s just not realistic and it’s okay if Chris Paul needs more than a week and a half to adjust and come to terms with a change in expectation of what’s needed from him. And to expect him to outwardly
project a Steph-level of humility right away to the cherry-picking, hot take spinning media while he’s still coming to terms with it all is unrealistic and I’d argue just on a human level, unfair.
He can see the end of his career in a year or two. Needs a championship to cement his legacy let’s get it done go Dubs.
We’re gonna need that middy too, because our bench scoring is pretty damn terrible to put it lightly.
It’s not about who starts, but rather, who closes. CP3 is a likely closer.
Consensus vibe: CP3 will do what he does best on the court and has the veteran savvy to adjust as necessary. Lineups and play time TBD.
