So we could have had Scoot? Damn…

  2. Cheechers23

Hasn’t it been well reported Portland told Dame days before the draft they weren’t trading 3? This isn’t lining up.

Like unless Sharpe was available but why would Portland be so adamant about holding onto 3 but then trade Simons+Sharpe?

Siakam is genuinely destroying the franchise right now

    I’m sick

I truly believe the man is pissed we’re handing the keys to Scottie and is sticking it to the FO

  5. pskill43

Last time I checked, he didn’t have a no trade clause?

The fact that its Michael Grange and Mark Stein pushing all of this gives me zero confidence in either direction as to what is actually going to happen.

  7. jjkiller26

Doubt it. Portland didnt go from offering the 3rd pick on draft night to suddenly being thrilled with Scoot and looking at Dame trades. There’s no way their whole direction just swung like that

siakam holding the team hostage. we couldve had scoot

  9. EarlofSlammwich

Hmm. Hard to believe. Portland did not need Siakam let alone give up Scoot for him – they have Jermai Grant locked up.

Michael Grange isn’t an insider. Seems like he hears gossip in the halls and puts it out so he’s in the mix. I take anything he says as 5% accurate.

Toronto media is poison. Portland wasn’t trading pick 3 unless Scoot was gone. I supported Pascal trade but whether he signs extension with the new team is 100% up to him.

  12. odontodoc

This is quite a messy divorce. I don’t see how the rest of the team will welcome him back like everything’s cool if this is true.

I’m not biting on this, if the FO had the opportunity to trade siakam for 3, and had a feeling Fred was out the door( whispers for a while), they would’ve pulled the trigger.

Maybe a few weeks before the entire process had started he put this out there, when the draft order and moves were mostly hypotheticals. By the time Portland was making actual decisions, Scoot was not getting dealt.

  14. canadianRSK

I mean if pascal said he didnt want to go and wasnt going to sign an extension theres nothing wrong with that. Why woukd he go out of his way to help the team if he didnt want to go

  15. ArrayMichael7

Siakam lost us Scoot man I pray this isn’t real

  16. FearTheNorth519

I just never believe Grange ever. He may be totally right I just don’t buy anything from him for some reason.

  17. Novel_Goal3140

Does Siakam have a no trade clause? No? Then who cares what he wants. Move him wherever and do what’s best for the organization.

  18. Outland3r_

Sooooo if nothing happens and Pascal sticks around Grange’s credibility will be gone. Kind of risky if there was no substance to any of this, so maybe it’s all true-ish

  19. TJStrawberry

Bruh why would he not want to join dame?! Perfect match

So essentially Siakam is controlling what the FO does. Beautiful situation we have right here where the front office can’t even freely decide what to do for their best interest. I like Siakam but he shouldn’t be in a spot where he gets to dictate where he gets traded to. If DeRozan couldn’t choose where he gets traded to, neither should Siakam.

  21. Everyone on here defending Siakam like he wants to stay for any other reason then $. I love pascal but let’s keep things in perspective. Should have never leaked they were shopping him. Blew up in their face.

  22. Raptors wanted the third pick most likely which the Portland Trail Blazers refused.

Portland is one of the least desirable cities for athletes to go to…it’s one of the smallest markets, the taxes are extremely high for high-income earners compared to most other places outside of Canada, it rains like 8 months of the year, and this city has become a liberal shit hole covered in homeless encampments and the crime rate + drug use is out of control…

I don’t blame Siakam for not committing to re-signing there…
