There was a “big pushback” from Siakam about going to Portland, which is why a trade didn’t happen on draft night. -via Michael Grange on the Raptors Show

Lol things continue to smell funky for the Cronin regime. I thought he said he will be able to bring guys in because of Dame and Chauncey. Don’t buy the snake oil y’all.

I don’t believe the sentiment that most these guys just hate Portland.

Yeah stars are never coming here the only way we can ever be competitive is through the draft.

  4. Does siakam really like dame though? I still remember the flagrant foul he had when he pulled dame to the ground. Idk if it has anything to do with that…

Not saying that guy didn’t say that on some show but I think I’d want a better source than some Gary Trent jr fan account.

Oh no. We lost out on a 1 year rental. Anyways

  7. HoldenMadic

Guy that played his college ball in *checks notes* Las Cruces, New Mexico doesn’t wanna come to Portland. Makes sense

Thank goodness, especially at the rumored package.

Dude doesn’t even make a difference. Thank god we never trade a 3rd pick for him. Raptors fans were begging for it

I mean it’s good to see a team like Denver prove you can win even though your city may not be the best there is and that it requires chemistry and building through the draft.
Portland should just copy what Denver has done tbh.

Now this is a situation where the player has all the leverage. He did the same thing to Indiana or Atlanta

    Last year on his deal

Wants a max contract, but Masai is hesitant.

Simply has to tell any and every team he will not be signing long term

  12. And just as we couldn’t acquire Siakam with Ant and 3rd pick (or whatever we offered), we’ll also not be able to acquire Jaylen Brown in a trade centered around Dame. Just like Siakam, Brown would be royally pissed at being traded by their home team right before they are eligible for the biggest possible supermax extension.

  13. That’s good for us, we were basically saved from our own incompetence by Siakam’s reluctance to come here. Trading no. 3 for him would have been a very bad idea.
