> When asked what Jackson-Davis brings to the roster, Warriors summer league head coach Jacob Rubin cited how his passing opens up possibilities “to play through him” with dribble handoffs, screen-and-dives and improvisational playmaking.
> “He’s a killer getting to his left hand. He’s really good at finding the angle, shot-fakes, up-and-unders. He’s just a big body, so he can finish around the basket,” Rubin said. “When he doesn’t have the ball in his hands, if he’s playing under the play, in the dunker (spot), he’s able to make plays behind the play, wedge in, get offensive rebounds. So I think his physicality, his ability to make plays with the ball is something we’re looking forward to (working with).”
It’s a shame a hamstring injury really robbed us of 4 games of being able to see this.
>Late at night he morphs into a textbook cinephile. Christopher Nolan is one of his favorite film directors, as he enjoys pictures that force him to question the nature of his own reality, such as “Inception” and “Interstellar”. He also has a soft-spot for Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, although he believes the brand has fallen off considerably since the release of “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019.
Also I like his movie opinions

More from the article:
“The biggest thing that motivates me is just stepping between the lines,” Jackson-Davis said. “When you’re in the lines, no one is your friend. The biggest thing for me is playing with energy. And at the end of the day, I’m trying to help my team get wins. I love to win and I’m trying to do everything in my power to get those wins. So trying to terrorize the rim, tear the rim down when I’m on the court, that’s the biggest thing for me.”
…
Jackson-Davis also enjoys cooking during his downtime, a hobby he picked up from his parents. He claims he can cook anything. He goes on TikTok, looks up new recipes. He enjoys the challenge.
He said the best dish he has ever made is prime rib with mashed potatoes and green beans. Soon, he wants to try making pasta from scratch. And similar to his passion for movies, his methods in the kitchen translate to the basketball court as well.
“I think when I first started cooking, I rushed things a lot,” Jackson-Davis said. “As I got used to it, I learned to be more patient and learned new ways of how to do things. I think that can relate to the court. My freshman, sophomore year of college, I was impatient, I would go, I wouldn’t read defenses very well. Then by my junior year, especially my senior year, just my maturity and level of impact and how I established myself with taking my time and just taking what the defense gives you is key.”
“I think the biggest thing for me is just learning what I have to do, and then just cherishing the minutes that I get and playing hard — just playing as hard as I can and proving I belong out there,” Jackson-Davis said. “That’s the biggest thing I can do.
Y’all, I think we might have drafted another Moses “wise beyond his years” Moody. Really like the way this kid thinks.
Edit to add: the article also mentioned that he has a goldendoodle named Zaire and that’s who receives most of his attention in his downtime. Not only did we draft a 4 year college playing big man with serious potential to fit very well within our system, we drafted the home bodiest of home bodies.
