Inject that into my veins.
I could definitely see it happening this coming season maybe undeserved like what happened with Wiggins recently. Definitely could see it deserved once Bron retires/leaves and Reaves is given an even larger role.
Fool. It should be FMVP.
Starting to think that Reaves and Max Christie are going to be a dual threat
The only white American all-stars in recent memory are Kevin Love and Gordon Hayward. I’d love to see Reaves playing at that level.
To be an all star he would need to roughly be one of the top 6 guards in the West, or even top 8 since usually a couple guys are unavailable for injuries.
Looking at some of the leaders from last year…
Probably not eligible:
Damian Lillard (assuming he’ll be traded to the East or just not playing)
Ja Morant (likely ineligible due to suspension)
Locks:
Luka Doncic,
Stephen Curry
Probably Locks:
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander,
Jamal Murray,
Devin Booker
Very Strong Candidates:
Anthony Edwards,
De’Aaron Fox
After that the competition thins out a lot. Likely competitors:
Chris Paul (who I imagine would be highly likely to skip the game to rest),
Klay Thompson (who will probably play primarily at the 3 next year),
Desmond Bane,
CJ McCollum
So if Austin can have a better season then Desmond Bane and CJ McCollum then he has a decent shot at making it through injuries, especially if the Lakers are rolling. To get selected outright he would need to play at the level of a De’Aaron Fox or Antony Edwards which would probably also make him a strong candidate for MIP as well.
It will definitely happen if he become consistent 3rd option plus he has Lakers nation supporting as well
Austin will live up to it for sure.
I could already smell the hate from every teams fan base when he makes it. Ima love that shit
