[Mat Ishbia] Almost 3 million households in Arizona will now be able to enjoy @Suns and @PhoenixMercury games for free. No more cost or TV blackouts for our fans!

After Bally Sport went bankrupt and Mat Ishbia faced a lawsuit for trying to make Suns games free, he has finally done it.

All games will be streamed on TV without the need of subscriptions and without blackouts.

Arizona’s Family will stream non-nationally televised games to viewers for free. It’s a step in the right direction for making NBA easier to access.

Suns seriously went from the worst owner in the NBA to one of the best.

  2. Oh god please let this be a precedent for other markets. Please. FUCK RSNs up the ass.

-Struggling fan in LA who has to sail the high seas to watch games cause Spectrum sucks for internet and Frontier is too cheap to pay for Spectrum sports. NBA I’d give you my hard earned money for league pass if I could just watch my team.

  3. Exceptionally based. Ballmer level owner upgrade.

Hopefully Stan fucking Kroenke takes notice, is embarrassed by the shit he has put his fanbase through with our TV situation, and does the same.

Of course there is literally zero chance that happens. But I can dream.

  5. we get Dolan and the Suns get this guy, we’ll give you our championship trophies for an owner swap

In ny, they want you to pay 30 dollars a month

I am in the market but don’t live in Arizona because of the crazy large area that is considered a ‘phoenix’ home market. Any idea what happens the league pass situation here?

Seeing stuff like this makes me hate Arte Moreno so much more.

Ishbia might be batshit crazy about his trades sometimes, but you can tell this dude actually loves bball and the fans of his team.

    Good stuff

Love this.Hope this happens in other markets.

Man if Phoenix had an owner like Ishbia earlier they would’ve won a title in the Nash days.

I think this is great, and I assume part of the move is to help build the local fanbase. Does anyone have insights how TV contracts would be impacted by this? I thought part of the reason the cap was going so high was because of TV deals. Are the local stations paying something comparable to cable, or is this more of a long-term investment?

This is huge. Even back in the 90s I know the timberwolves had only like 30 or so games for free on network TV , the rest on a cable channel (that eventually was bought by fox sports net) . I assume that was similar in other markets

@Denver. I’ll never understand the fact how Denver Nuggets fans can barely watch their own team

I mean it’s not even bad financially.

More viewership for sponsors could make it profitable.

Then more NBA will join hopefully.

As an old man who has very fond memories of my brother and I sitting around watching the Suns on a tiny TV/radio back in the 90s…I can only hope this helps grow a new generation of Suns fans.

If I just dropped billions of dollars on a new toy, I’d want to make sure everyone can see it too. This guy knows our fan base is going to explode next season. As a life long Sun’s fan, I couldn’t be more excited. Haters gonna hate, potatoes gonna potate.
