Fun hypothetical: The blazers were #1 destination in 92 when he wanted to be traded from Philly. How many do you think he and Clyde could’ve won as a duo?

Im thinking we could’ve gotten at least one when Jordan retired.

This, to me, is one of the bigger “what ifs ” in Rip City lore. Barkley would’ve added more than Buck could at the time. They wouldn’t have necessarily beaten MJ and Pippen. But operating under the assumption you had TP, Clyde, Duck, Jerome, and Sir Charles…that would’ve been a hell of a team. I think it’s fair to think one title could’ve come from that era.

We could easily have won 69, but 420 isn’t out of the question.

I’d kinda forgotten that Sir Charles teamed up with Clyde for two years on Houston. Chuck was still dominant at that point but they couldn’t get past those very hatable Jazz teams.

Traded for him?! We could have just drafted him!

Now add Sabonis who we should have had in his prime (89-95). Wow

Yeah they win.

They would been back to the finals and would gave Michael hell. Too bad that never happened. The org been dropping the ball for years

Zero, Barkley was a great player for stats, but his game never translated into winning.
Now if Barkley and Clyde joined Hakeem in Houston, maybe they could beat MJ’s Bulls for a third ring.

Still Jordan though

I’m not too sad about it, no matter how good. Every team eventually runs into Jordan. Maybe we get that 96 ring but that’s the only one I think is on the table.

haha this “fun” you speak of, is a strange thing

Never knew about this – wow thanks for the share

If theres a shortlist of best teams in history not to win a title, the 93 suns are on there. They’re almost certainly the best team Jordan beat, at least in the finals. So maybe, but MJ was a goddamned buzzsaw & I don’t know that anybody is taking him out in his era.

on another unrelated note, those jerseys are fucking amazing. hopefully Mitchell and Ness does a release of it in the future.
edit: nevermind, looks like Barkley refuses to sign a licensing agreement with them so can’t get any Chuck jerseys unless you find an original
