What if OKC replicates what Cleveland did with Mobley and plays Holmgrem at the four? They're both very skinny and can't guard centres but are very good rim protectors.
I wonder how they will retain this big 4 of Shai, Giddey, Jdub, and Chet. Shai will get a supermax which leaves around 90 mil for the rest of the roster.
As long as they stay healthy and SGA continues his ascension they’ll be great. I think they can be a 6/7 seed possibly. The west is really good though they could honestly be in the play-in again.
As an OKC fan I’m excited about a lot for this team, but I want Ousmane Dieng to really breakout soon. I’m lowkey even more excited about him than Chet. A 6’10 20 year old wing who patterns his game after Paul George. He has so much potential, I just hope he can put it together. I believe if Cason Wallace becomes that 3&D type player at the backup guard Tre mann will get traded soon. Defensively this team can be top 5, or in that 7-10 range especially with Kenrich coming back from injury and Chet. Also SGA is no slouch defensively. Plus Dort…can’t wait for next season
I swear I’ve been beating this drum since last year lol. I’m glad to see everyone’s coming around. I’ve painted the bandwagon blue instead of orange so you all feel at home switching teams.
Also, Chet will start offense from top of arc imo then screen and do handoffs with SGA and J-Dub. Josh’s true role is the glue guy/consistent play maker. Everyone else is free to play their role.
I can't help but think they should condense some of their assets into a star. They just have too many the can't use and they're going to start losing them.
As a Thunder fan, I can’t wait for this season. I think they’ll be pretty solid. Chet just happens to excel at the main things that the team struggled with last season. I can definitely see a lot of plays coming where SGA drives and gets a lot of attention and then dumps it off to Chet at the basket for an easy dunk.
SGA became one of my favourite players in the league last season, and it's caused me to grow such a soft spot for the Thunder. The front office is incredible, and the talent they have managed to assemble in such a quick amount of time is so impressive.
It would be cool if Funky did some long form content. I’d love he had a podcast with someone else in the community who knows ball. Or he could just do it himself and have a guest on each week or whatever he wanted to do. But I’d definitely listen to him talk about ball on a broader scale for like an hour or whatever a week in a podcast format.
Just something to think about. I’m sure a lot of ppl here would too. Dom2K used to have a podcast but it seems like that’s not going on anymore. Clique and him did a pod for a short period but then that disappeared. So it’d be cool if you could do one w one of them, or whoever idc.

Between Micic, Isaiah Joe, Cason Wallace, A.Wiggins, Ousmane Dieng, Poku, JWill, Kenrich Williams, Tre Mann & Keyontae Johnson they have 10 intriuging options & only need 4 or 5 of these guys to be productive to have a very good bench.
usually when people talk about the thunder they dont know what they are talking about but you know everything, big props bro the idea of chet josh shai 3 man tandem is scary and our defense could be top 7 tbh and i agree on giddey missing potential in the paint, hes probably gotten a lot more stronger again so hopefully we see more bully ball and he gets to the line more
Craziest part of all of this is okc already has technically ‘completed’ the rebuild and will likely make the playoffs in years to come, yet they’ve barely touched the stockpile of draft capital they’ve accumulated. Real questions need to be made over whether they should see how the picks pan out given Presti’s draft success track record or whether they should go all in another a disgruntled young start that fits the timeline of sga/Giddey/Chet
Really curious to see how this team builds itself with how quickly young players get big contracts now. They may have the perfect timing with the ability to sign guys to contracts as the salary cap increases quickly over the next few seasons. Plus it gives them picks and blue chippers to trade for high end stars. I was really apprehensive about the whole big tank big build model but they're sitting in a really good spot rn.
You make a good point with Giddey’s FT attempts. I watched a lot of the games last season personally I felt like he just wasn’t getting a whole lot of calls. Which I’m hoping changes over time.
